Why the Hell are You Here, Teacher!? is one of those ecchi student/teacher comedies that always has you laughing with its absurd and inappropriate humor. Ichirou Satou happens to be a rather unfortunate student who continuously finds himself in lewd situations with his teacher, Kana Kojima, unintentionally. With the risk of being labeled a deviant always on the table, each episode follows the mishaps that lead him into these awkward circumstances.

If you enjoy this kind of humor or like the teacher/student pairings that come of it, then we have a list for you! An anime like Why the Hell are You Here, Teacher!? is Asa Made Jugyou Chu!, it follows the same brand of humor where a student is thrown in absurd situations and often has a teacher chasing after them. There are also more serious choices like Scum's Wish that has a complete twisted love triangle where teachers and students alike are involved, leading to nothing but tragedy. Regardless of your preferences, we have a little bit of everything!

  • Okusama ga Seitokaichou!, otherwise known as My Wife is the Student Council President!, is a story about Hayato Izumi whose dream is to become the student council president. However, the smart and popular Ui Wakana has won the election, placing Hayato as the vice president instead. Already mildly annoyed at his loss, he'll have to face another issue shortly after; he must get married to the very woman he lost to. As it just so happens, their parents drunkenly promised that the two would one day be wed, which was something neither of them knew about. Now the two must learn how to get along at school while also being husband and wife. Much like Why the Hell are You Here, Teacher!?, My Wife is the Student Council President is about a young man placed in very difficult romantic situations.

    • Natsuo Fujii has been in love with his teacher, Hina, for a long time. However, knowing that she's an older woman who's responsible for his education, he recognizes that the chances of them getting together are slim to none. Thus, he decides it's time to abandon his feelings for Hina and move on by sleeping with another girl. Rui Tachibana is a strange girl who asks Natsuo to sleep with her for the experience; there is no love or real emotion behind the act. Shortly after this event, Natsuo realizes that the woman his father remarried is none other than the mother of both Rui and Hina, the girl he slept with and the woman he loves. Why the Hell are You Here, Teacher!? is certainly a more comedic series about a teacher and their student, but Domestic Girlfriend is a little more dramatic and certainly has earned its popularity amongst the anime community.

      • Rito Yuuki has a lot of problems as a young high school boy, but his biggest seems to be confessing to the girl he likes, Haruna Sairenji. Things only get more confusing for him when a strange, naked girl crashes into him while he's bathing. Lala Satalin Deviluke is an alien from another planet, but as the crown princess of her people she's to be in an arranged marriage. Desperate to escape her fate, she takes refuge in Rito, hoping that he will marry her so that she can be free. Now stuck with this odd girl who has no idea how Earth works, Rito's life is about to get even more frustrating than it ever was before. If you like the kind of flustered romantic dynamic in Why the Hell are You Here, Teacher!?, than you'll love To Love-Ru

Yuuki Kagami has been placed in a very uncomfortable situation; despite finally becoming an honors student at his dream academy, he's been placed in a girls' dormitory. While the mess up is certainly on the school's part, Yuuki is still at risk for being kicked out since boys are prohibited in the girls' area. The solution is simple, or so it would be for an anime. Dressing up as a girl, Yuuki will attend his school life disguised as a female. Should anyone find out, however, it will risk everything. Why the Hell are You Here, Teacher!? shows a student placed in a lot of strange situations with a teacher, and this is exactly part of what Yuuki puts up with in Asa Made Jugyou Chu!, but with more of a harem aspect.
