Women who wear hijabs deal with lots of invasive questions about their hair, their religious beliefs, and their levels of oppression.
But in a world where you can easily read webcomics about women in hijabs or buy a Barbie in traditional Muslim attire, ignorance is a choice. There are some things you just shouldn't say to women who wear hijabs or, honestly, anyone. If you are guilty of making insensitive remarks, it's not too late to use more inclusive language.
