    Nipsey Hussle's Passing

Rapper, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Nipsey Hussle was slain outside his South Los Angeles clothing store Marathon Clothing on March 31, 2019. Community members, fans, and celebrities mourned the loss of such a positive force

Born Ermias Asghedom, the Grammy-nominated rapper was open about his violent past and former connection to Rollin' 60s, an LA gang associated with the Crips. He was determined to help young people in his neighborhood avoid a similar fate.

He was supposed to go to an anti-gang violence meeting only hours before he was shot. A vigil for the slain activist left 19 mourners injured after a panic sent people stampeding. Police are unsure of what caused the alarm, but given how the rapper passed, many were on high alert.

  • The Joe Biden Controversy

Many wondered when former Vice President Joe Biden would throw his hat in the ring as one of the 2020 Democrat nominees. He had been polling well, but then Nevada politician Lucy Flores wrote a piece about her unease with Biden called "An Awkward Kiss Changed How I Saw Joe Biden."

The article went into detail about how Biden came out to support her as she campaigned. She also said he was physically intimate with her, kissing her on the back of the head and smelling her hair without her consent.

The piece had people arguing whether or not Biden's affectionate actions were being blown out of proportion, or if this article was adding yet another layer to the #MeToo movement. Flores said:

Biden was the second-most powerful man in the country and, arguably, one of the most powerful men in the world. He was there to promote me as the right person for the lieutenant governor job. Instead, he made me feel uneasy, gross, and confused. The vice-president of the United States of America had just touched me in an intimate way reserved for close friends, family, or romantic partners — and I felt powerless to do anything about it.

While his actions weren't criminal, Biden's "awkward" physical interactions with women has been long-documented. After Flores's piece, another woman came forward and accused the former vice president of inappropriate touching.
