Fun Facts About the Voices of Archer

Think of a hard-drinking secret agent who has a penchant for womanizing and getting himself into dangerous situations. Sure, you may have thought we were talking about James Bond, but throw in some mommy issues and you’ve got Sterling Archer all summed up. Ever since Archer premiered in 2009, the world’s most dangerous spy has traveled the globe with his co-workers, leaving a trail of destruction, shame, and humor in his wake.

As interesting as the stories of Archer, Lana, and the rest of the ISIS gang may be, the stories of the people behind the characters can often be just as fascinating. Archer has assembled a crack team consisting of some of the best voice actors such as H. Jon Benjamin, Aisha Tyler, and Chris Parnell - just to name a few. Under the guidance of creator Adam Reed, these actors have taken what could have been superficial, unlikable characters and imbued them with a certain humanity that makes them endlessly… wait, I had something for this… watchable.

So with that in mind, we have compiled a list of some of the most fascinating facts about the voices of Archer. Call Kenny Loggins, enter the Danger Zone, and vote up the facts that you find the most fascinating.

Actress Aisha Tyler has admitted that her two favorite episodes of Archer are "Skytanic" and "Skorpio." She loves "Skytanic" because of the scene in which Pam watches Cyril and Cheryl have sex while sitting on the toilet, and she loves "Skorpio" mostly because of the chocolate threesome scene, which (while disturbing) is something we can all agree with.

In an appearance on Conan, H. Jon Benjamin revealed that he panicked when he learned that he had been cast to play Sterling Archer because didn't read the script and assumed Archer would have a British accent. As it turns out, despite being a fairly prolific voice actor, the man doesn't do English accents very well at all.

Lucky Yates, who provides the voice for the psychotic Dr. Krieger, also served as the physical likeness upon which agent Ray Gillette's appearance was modeled. Or maybe he's one of Krieger's clones, we aren't really sure.
