Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra are both animated shows for kids. It isn't hard to see, though, that the implications of bending are incredibly terrifying. Benders are powerful fighters who can easily cause lethal harm even with the slightest mistake.

Airbenders Can Create Vacuums And Reduce Pressure In A Room - Bursting Vessels
When Zaheer eliminates the Earth Queen, he creates a vacuum around her head, the sudden loss of pressure causing immediate effects around her eyes. He masterfully manipulates the air around her and causes intense physical damage without using any force.
Considering how delicate the internal organs are, bloodbending can cause irreparable damage if there is a single misstep. So much of the internal body is made out of water that it's easy for a waterbender to accidentally twist an internal organ in a way that renders the person lifeless.
We are accustomed to seeing airbenders as pacificts. However, we should acknowledge that Monk Gyatso was somehow able to defeat an entire Fire Nation Army by himself before passing. Zaheer easily rips the air out from the Earth Queen's lungs and demonstrates the truly lethal implications of an airbender.

Waterbenders Can Theoretically Freeze You - Or Turn You Into Mist
If waterbenders can bend blood and they can freeze water, they can also theoretically freeze your whole body - or even turn it into mist. Even if they were able to turn blood back into liquid, there's no telling what kind of physiological turmoil the person will suffer. Would you even survive?
In order to trigger the Avatar State, General Fong sinks Katara into the ground. Initially, he loosens up the ground just enought to lock her legs down. However, he later drops Katara entirely through the ground. Even as a powerful waterbender, Katara could not stop being buried alive.
In the above clip, Bolin lavabends towards two people in metal suits. We never see them recover - which implies that they have been melted alive from the lava.
