    Good Times At Grandpa's

    From Redditor u/Aenack:

This happened to me about a few years ago during Thanksgiving. I was around 11 or 12, and it was your typical Thanksgiving dinner family reunion. Turkey, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, you know, the usual suspects. Me and my family were spending some quality time together, watching football, playing board games, and having fun. This is where the awkward part comes. About an hour into the party, it occurred to me that I needed to use the bathroom. So I went to the bathroom. During that time, I decided to take advantage of the privacy (naturally)[...] Now, my grandfather had this Bluetooth earpiece that had voice-command and I thought it was a pretty cool device (until this moment, that is). Now, being the dumb sh*t I was, I forgot to turn off Bluetooth on my phone. Surprisingly enough, the phone detected my grandpa's earpiece and automatically paired it with it. Meaning the sounds of moans and [...] noises from my phone were now being broadcast to my grandpa's ear. When I was done, I washed my hands, and walked back to the dinner table to find my grandpa trying real hard to contain his laughter. I asked him what was so funny, and he replied, "Having a little alone time, now, weren't you?". It was at this point I knew I f*cked up, and no one said a word for the rest of the dinner. It was extremely embarrassing, and to this day, I'm still scared to use my phone whenever my grandpa's around. (He still hasn't gotten rid of that damned thing.)

    No Dessert For Me, Thanks.

    From Redditor u/Dragongirl5986:

Whenever I went to my ex's house for tea we would have the strangest conversations. So his family is one of those ones that have no filter when they talk, so they will say ANYTHING while eating. And one day while over there for tea his mum started talking about her Thrush and how she wasn't happy with her [intimate] life. She then went on to describe both of those in great detail. It was so gross and my ex only got embarrassed when he saw my face because he was so used to that kind of conversation at the dinner table. When it came to dessert though his dad started talking about his [personal intimacy]  habits... let's just say that I couldn't eat my icecream

    Blame It On Yourself!

    From Redditor u/PhoenixPhantom4106:

One time in school someone talked about [personal intimacy], and I was 10 years old at the time. I didn't know what it was. So I asked my mom, and she joked about it, not even telling me. Then all the adults started joking and telling stories. Some were stories I didn't need (or want) to hear, so I just sat at the table, trying not to eavesdrop. My siblings, I don't know about them. They were in their own little world.

That was one of the most awkward family dinners I ever had.

    The Christmas Special

    From Redditor u/Morbus_Akura:

This was when I was 5 years old on a Christmas night. My brother was cooking while my wrathful father was drunk and passed out on the couch. My brother made turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, and green beans. When it was time to eat, all seemed well. My brother made a speech about the greatest gift he was ever given and I just watched in amazement. My father then looked at the food and said, "Why don't you act like normal kids?" I was confused and my brother looked at him. My father said, "You always force yourselves to be different. No wonder why your mother is gone. She doesn't want to see our sons like this. The oldest one dyeing his hair white and the youngest being a pathetic weakling!" Our mother [passed] when I was a few months old in an [mishap]. My brother and father started screaming and arguing with each other. I felt choked up and went to my room. Around 10 PM, my brother came into our room and brought me dinner. I am just grateful to have my sibling with me.

    The Greatest Lesson

    From Redditor u/Miamaya478:

When I was 11, my mom invited my grandma and my uncle, who was 24 at the time, to our thanksgiving dinner. My uncle drank a lot, and he was drunk before dinner was even ready. My younger sister had no idea, but me and my teen older sister knew. My grandma had a fit, with how my uncle was drunk. Next thing you know, the family dinner became a talk between my grandma and uncle about [intercourse] and [gentlemen's] clubs. The weirdest dinner of my life.

    But First, Dinner.

    From Redditor u/nick121205:

So I was going to my aunt's house for a big party and when we were eating dinner my mom gets a text saying that my great-grandpa [passed]. She passed out and none of us knew what happened. So I went and looked at her phone and was like oh crap. So the rest of dinner was just silence and teary eyes.
