'Just Loop The Seat Belt Around The Moses Basket'

    From Redditor u/krb180:

When I was pregnant with my first, my mother-in-law gave us a Moses basket, which of course, was great. She then told us we could loop the seat belt through the handles and use it as a car seat.

    No.

'Your Seat Belt Will Squeeze Out The Baby!'

    From a former Redditor:

"Why are you pregnant and wearing your seat belt? Didn't you know if I stop the car quickly the belt will squeeze your tummy and the baby will pop out? Please take off your seat belt!" - I was told this while pregnant. I said: "Remove it so both my child and I can perish in a car crash?"

    'Drink Some Alcohol Before Breastfeeding'

    From Redditor u/voxxa:

My mother-in-law keeps telling me I should have a drink before breastfeeding my baby before bed so he will sleep through the night. He's 1 month; he's not supposed to sleep through the night. The thought of him hungry and soiled all night and knocked out from alcohol in my breast milk makes my skin crawl.

'Give Them Everything They Want. No Matter What.'

    From Redditor u/WatchTheBoom:

A co-worker's tip to avoiding temper tantrums was effectively to give in any time their kid got upset or demanded anything.

"Yeah, my life is way easier. I never have to deal with my kids being awful so long as I make sure I give them absolutely everything they want exactly when they want it with no thought to the consequences."

His kids were the. absolute. worst. They'll probably be great middle management someday.

    'You're Overfeeding Your Newborn'

    From Redditor u/TheBananaKing:

If your newborn is feeding more than once every three hours, you're overfeeding it.

If you don't teach your baby to self-settle by three months, he never will.

The baby is looking too hot - you should give it water, not breast milk.

(At 18 months) He's going to bed far too late - if you keep this up, he'll never be able to get up early for school.

You need to wean him onto formula, or he won't get enough iron.

You should let him cry - it's good for his lungs.

'Don't Change Their Diapers Too Much'

    From Redditor u/foxycartographer:

    - A little whisky on her gums will help with teething. (It might, but WTF.)

    - You change her diaper too much. (Would you want to sit in your own filth?)
