Where The Cast Of 'Band of Brothers' Is Now

Updated December 1, 2020 61.4k views18 items

HBO has put out numerous stellar television series, miniseries, and movies; many of which have springboarded the careers of some famous actors. Band of Brothers, based on historian Stephen E. Ambrose's 1992 nonfiction book, is no exception to this phenomenon.

Aired in 2001, Band of Brothers tells the harrowing stories of men who fought in Easy Company, 506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division of the US Army during World War II. The cast of Band of Brothers featured future action stars like Tom Hardy, well-known comedic actors such as David Schwimmer, and Magneto himself, Michael Fassbender. Never fear, Dr. Charles Xavier (played by James McAvoy) was there, too.

Many Band of Brothers actors continue to thrive on big and small screens alike. Here's a glimpse of what some of your favorite Band of Brothers actors are up to now.

  • After appearing as Private First Class James Miller on Band of Brothers, James McAvoy continued to work on television series and miniseries alike. McAvoy won the first-ever Rising Star Award from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) in 2006.

The role of Dr. Nicholas Garrigan in 2006's The Last King of Scotland earned him a best actor award from Scotland's branch BAFTA and a nomination as best supporting actor by the whole of BAFTA as well. McAvoy went on to appear in Atonement (2007), became Dr. Charles Xavier in X-Men: First Class (2011), and offered 24 different personalities in Split and Glass in 2016 and 2019, respectively.

More recently, he's returned to television - and to HBO - as Lord Asriel Belacqua on His Dark Materials.

  • Before joining the X-Men franchise as Erik Lehnsherr (AKA Magneto), Michael Fassbender (who played Sgt. Burton "Pat" Christenson) spent his post-Band of Brothers years vacillating between television movies and series. With his role as Stelios in 300 in 2006, Fassbender emerged as a film actor, one who didn't shy away from showing skin - once again apparent in Shame in 2011.

Fassbender appeared as the titular characters in both Macbeth and Steve Jobs in 2015, shifting gears entirely in 2016 and 2017 with roles in Assassin's Creed and Alien: Covenant

Cudlitz picked up his arms again in 2014 when he joined the cast of AMC's The Walking Dead as Sergeant Abraham Ford. After leaving The Walking Dead, Cudlitz moved to comedy on The Kids Are Alright in 2018, but has returned to drama wiith Clarice series on CBS.
