Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll (born 2 February 1977) is a Colombian singer, songwriter, dancer, businesswoman, and philanthropist. Born and raised in Barranquilla, her first studio albums, Magia and Peligro, failed to attain commercial success in the 1990s; however, she rose to prominence in Latin America with her international debut album, Pies Descalzos (1996), and her fourth album, Dónde Están los Ladrones? (1998).
Shakira entered the English-language market with her fifth album, Laundry Service in 2001. Its lead single, "Whenever, Wherever", became one of the most successful singles of 2002. Her success was solidified with her sixth and seventh albums Fijación Oral, Volumen Uno and Oral Fixation, Volume Two (2005). Shakira's eighth and ninth albums, She Wolf and Sale el Sol, were released in 2009 and 2010 respectively. Her official song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)", which featured a South African band Freshlyground, became the biggest-selling World Cup song of all time with 10 million downloads. With over 2 billion views, it is one of the most viewed music videos on YouTube. She has four of the twenty top-selling hits of the 2000s, more than any other artist.Shakira has received numerous awards, including 3 Grammy Awards, 13 Latin Grammy Awards, 4 MTV Video Music Awards, 7 Billboard Music Awards, 39 Billboard Latin Music Awards and has been Golden Globe-nominated. She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and sold more than 75 million records worldwide, making her one of the world's best-selling music artists. She is a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF.

Juanes

Juan Esteban Aristizábal Vásquez (born August 9, 1972), known professionally as Juanes, is a Colombian musician who was a member of the rock band Ekhymosis and is now a solo artist. In 2000, his solo debut album Fíjate Bien won three Latin Grammy Awards. According to his record label, Juanes has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide.Raised in Colombia, Juanes began playing piano at age two. When Juanes was 17, he started his first band, Ekhymosis, in 1988, which went on to release Eight albums, achieving recognition in his native country of Colombia. The track "Dos" from the album Niño Gigante in 1992 was very popular. In 1997 after the band broke up, Juanes continued solo and in 2000 he released the album, Fíjate Bien, which earned him three Latin Grammys. His follow-up album, Un Día Normal, was released in 2000 and was later certified platinum in Guatemala and Uruguay throughout Latin America.  Juanes' third album, Mi Sangre (2004), which became an international bestseller, managing to position well in a number of countries around the world, achieved success due to the single "La Camisa Negra".  He has since released La Vida... Es Un Ratico (2007) and P.A.R.C.E. (2010). On May 29, 2012 Juanes released the album Juanes MTV Unplugged.
According to his label, Universal Music, Juanes has won, among others, twenty Latin Grammy Awards (5 wins in the Grammy Awards on November 13, 2008) and two Grammy Awards. Juanes received the BMI President's Award at the 2010 BMI Latin Awards. Presented By James Edward Taylor  Juanes is also known for his humanitarian work, especially with aid for Colombian victims of anti-personnel mines through his NGO Fundacion Mi Sangre. On April 2013, Juanes released an autobiography titled Chasing The Sun in which he tells his story through narratives and pictures.

Mateo Camargo

Mateo Camargo is a Colombian-born record producer, and was the guitarist of rock band Madina Lake from 2005 to 2012. He currently plays guitar and synthesiser in the band Little Bitter Cubes.

Alfredo Gutierrez

Alfredo de Jesús Gutiérrez Vital (born April 17, 1940) is a Colombian accordion player and singer famous for winning  the "Vallenato Legend Festival" three times (since then he is known as the King of Kings).He was born in Palo Quemao, Colombia, and began playing accordion when he was four. In 1960 he started his professional career as a musician, but it was in 1968 when he consolidated his career when he got a deal with Codiscos record label and produced an album that gave him national acclaim.
He was part of the famous music group Los Corraleros de Majagual along with Lisandro Meza, Chico Cervantes, Cesar Castro and Calixto Ochoa. Among his musical repertoire are found hits like "Los Indios", "Los Novios", "Ojos Indios", "Ojos Verdes", "Anhelos" "Cabellos Cortos", "Cabellos Largos", "Capullito de Rosa", "Ay Elena"  "Festival en Guararé".
In 2000, Along with  Francisco "Pacho" Rada and others artists he starred in the documentary El Acordeón del Diablo from the German director Stefan Schwietert.

Alex González

Alejandro González Trujillo (born February 24, 1969, Miami, Florida, United States) is an American musician of Cuban and Colombian extraction. He is a member, drummer and songwriter for the Mexican band Maná and metal band De La Tierra. He is nicknamed "El Animal" and has sung lead vocals on several songs, such as the single "Me Vale". Alex discovered his passion for playing the drums at the young age of 5 when he caught the attention of a kindergarten teacher who gave him a red sparkle drumkit. He took to the instrument very seriously and found himself a teacher shortly thereafter.Alex was in Maná by age fifteen which hit it big in 1992 with the album ¿Dónde Jugarán Los Niños?, which was certified gold in the U.S. Alex cites influences such as Ringo Starr, John Bonham, Keith Moon, Stewart Copeland, Neil Peart and Terry Bozzio.Maná has been a big part of the Rock En Español phenomenon in the United States. They began playing in the United States in 1993 and influenced other bands with their success to play in the U.S., too. Alex is quoted as saying, "I think it’s incredible that Spanish language bands like ours can sell millions of albums and sell out arenas in the U.S. It’s also cool to see how many “anglos” are now getting hooked on our music." His talent has been featured in Modern Drummer Magazine, Drummerworld, Drum, among others. He performs exclusively with DW Drums (formerly has used Pearl Drums), Remo, Paiste and Vic Firth.

John Leguizamo

John Alberto Leguizamo (; Colombian Spanish: [leɣiˈsamo]; born July 22, 1964) is an American actor, stand-up comedian, filmmaker, and playwright. He came to prominence with a co-starring role in the action comedy Super Mario Bros. (1993) as Luigi and a supporting role in the crime drama Carlito's Way (1993). Other roles include Sid the Sloth in the animated Ice Age films (2002–2016) and the narrator of the sitcom The Brothers García (2000–2004). His other notable films are To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor, Spawn,  Moulin Rouge!, Land of the Dead, Chef, John Wick, John Wick: Chapter 2, The Happening, and Romeo + Juliet. He had a recurring role on ER and was a series regular on The Kill Point. He is also known for his role as Ozzy Delvecchio on Bloodline.
As of 2009, he has appeared in over 75 films, produced over 10 films, starred on Broadway in several productions (winning several awards, including a Special Tony Award), made over 12 television appearances, and has produced or starred in many other television shows.



Andrés Cepeda

Andrés Cepeda (born July 7, 1973) is a popular Colombian singer-songwriter. He was born in Bogotá, the youngest of five children. He displayed an inclination towards music from an early age, studying piano since the age of 5. He composed his first piece at the age of 12. He studied at Colegio San Carlos and later at Colegio Emilio Valenzuela. His musical career began as the lead voice of Poligamia, a latin rock-pop group which he founded with some friends during his adolescence.
After Poligamia was disbanded, Cepeda continued with his musical career as a soloist, finding success in different musical genres such as bolero and Balada, among other romantic genres. His album El carpintero achieved quadruple-platinum sales in Colombia.



Gabriel García Márquez

Gabriel José de la Concordia García Márquez (American Spanish: [ɡaˈβɾjel ɣaɾˈsi.a ˈmaɾkes] (listen); 6 March 1927 – 17 April 2014) was a Colombian novelist, short-story writer, screenwriter and journalist, known affectionately as Gabo [ˈɡaβo] or Gabito [ɡaˈβito] throughout Latin America. Considered one of the most significant authors of the 20th century and one of the best in the Spanish language, he was awarded the 1972 Neustadt International Prize for Literature and the 1982 Nobel Prize in Literature. He pursued a self-directed education that resulted in his leaving law school for a career in journalism. From early on, he showed no inhibitions in his criticism of Colombian and foreign politics. In 1958, he married Mercedes Barcha; they had two sons, Rodrigo and Gonzalo.García Márquez started as a journalist, and wrote many acclaimed non-fiction works and short stories, but is best known for his novels, such as One Hundred Years of Solitude (1967), The Autumn of the Patriarch (1975), and Love in the Time of Cholera (1985). His works have achieved significant critical acclaim and widespread commercial success, most notably for popularizing a literary style known as magic realism, which uses magical elements and events in otherwise ordinary and realistic situations. Some of his works are set in the fictional village of Macondo (mainly inspired by his birthplace, Aracataca), and most of them explore the theme of solitude.
Upon García Márquez’s death in April 2014, Juan Manuel Santos, the President of Colombia, called him "the greatest Colombian who ever lived."

Luis Miguel González Bosé (born April 3, 1956), usually known as Miguel Bosé, is a  Panamanian-born Spanish pop new wave musician and actor. Bosé became an honorary Colombian citizen in 2010.

Fonseca

Juan Fernando Fonseca, (born May 29, 1979), better known as Fonseca (for his surname) is a Colombian singer, songwriter, record producer, and activist. Born and raised in Bogotá, he studied at the Colegio Los Nogales from kindergarten to 9th grade where he realized his dream of becoming a singer.  He then moved to a new school called Gimnasio Campestre. After his time at Gimnasio Campestre, he enrolled in the Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA and while there he got a proposal to record his first single. He left school to focus on his musical career.  He began recording some demos and performing in the rock music scene of Bogotá with a rock band "Baroja". In which he participated in Rock al Parque. He recorded his first three solo studio albums with EMI label, then he signed on with Sony Music.
He debuted in 2002 with his first album, Fonseca, which was popular in his home country. His follow-up album Corazón (2005) included hits such as "Te Mando Flores" and Hace Tiempo. Fonseca's third album, Gratitud (2008) included the singles Enrédame and Arroyito. After breaking with the label EMI Capitol he decided release his fourth album Ilusión (2011) under the label Sony Music Latin with the hit Eres Mi Sueño.
Influenced heavily by Carlos Vives, his style is a blend of vallenato and cumbia, two traditional and popular forms of Colombian music. His achievements include six Latin Grammy Awards and one Billboard Latin Music Awards.

Fanny Lú

Fanny Lucía Martínez Buenaventura (born February 8, 1973), better known professionally as Fanny Lu, is a Colombian singer, songwriter and actress from Santiago de Cali, Colombia. She studied at the University of the Andes and received a degree in industrial engineering. She is the mother of two children, Mateo and Valentina, and is currently divorced. She signed with Universal Music Latin record label.
Her first job in the entertainment industry was in Colombia, as hostess to a music magazine called Siempre Música. She then moved on to radio voice in the principal radio stations from her country. However, she wasn't recognized until 1998, when she made part of the cast from the Colombian soap opera Perro Amor.
In 2006 she released Lágrimas Cálidas, winning fame in Colombia and some countries from Latin America, with her two singles that reached the top on the Latin charts. Her 2008 album Dos consolidated her musician career, giving credibility as a famous artist. Her single "Tú No Eres Para Mi" was number one in several countries. She released her third album, Felicidad y Perpetua on November 2011. Her humanitarian work granted her to be named "Goodwill Ambassador" from the FAO.

Joe Arroyo

Álvaro José Arroyo González (also known as Joe Arroyo or El Joe; 1 November 1955 – 26 July 2011) was a Colombian salsa and tropical music singer, composer and songwriter. He was considered one of the greatest performers of Caribbean music in his country.

Marbelle

Maureen Belky Ramírez Cardona, better known by her stage name Marbelle is a Colombian singer singing pop and romantic ballads. Se has released six albums with three being certified platinum and two gold. Her last album gave her greater fame in almost all Latin American countries. She is also known as judge and mentor in El factor X and the children spin-off El factor Xs.

Diomedes Díaz

Diomedes Díaz Maestre (26 May 1957 – 22 December 2013) was a Colombian vallenato singer, songwriter, and composer. His nickname, "El Cacique de la Junta" ("the Chieftain of La Junta"), was given to him by another vallenato singer, Rafael Orozco Maestre, to honor Díaz's birthplace.

Jorge Celedón

Jorge Celedón also known as Jorgito Celedón is a Colombian musician and singer of vallenato music. Celedón was one of the backup singers for the vallenato group Binomio de Oro de America who joined after the death of Rafael Orozco Maestre. In 1998, he decided to create his own vallenato group and teamed with accordionist Jimmy Zambrano.

Catalina Sandino Moreno

Catalina Sandino Moreno (born 19 April 1981) is a Colombian actress. She shared the Silver Bear with Charlize Theron and received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in Maria Full of Grace (2004).

Silvestre Dangond

Silvestre Francisco Dangond Corrales is a Colombian singer. He was born on May 12, 1980, in the town of Urumita. He attributes his talents to his father, the singer William José “El Palomo” Dangond Baquero, who during the mid-1970s recorded 10 singles with Andrés “El Turco” Gil; and his mother, who comes from a musical family and passed down her charismatic nature to him, while also playing a major role in his formal and personal education.

Jean Carlos Centeno

Jean Carlos Jiménez Centeno (born November 11 in Cabimas, Zulia) is Colombian-Venezuelan singer and composer of vallenato, bolero and salsa. Centeno gained fame as singer and composer for the vallenato group Binomio de Oro de America. On December 31, 2005 Centeno left the Binomio de Oro to pursue his own vallenato group along accordionist Juan Fernando "Morre" Romero. In 2006 Centeno and Romero released the album Ave Libre.

Andrés Cabas

Andrés Mauricio Cabas Rosales (born October 7, 1976) known worldwide as Cabas, is a Colombian musician. His music is characterized by having a modern Caribbean-like sound, mixing genres from Tropical and Cumbia to Trap and Rock in a completely original manner.

Carlos Alberto Vives Restrepo (born 7 August 1961) is a Colombian singer, songwriter and actor.

Jorge Oñate

Jorge Oñate (born March 31, 1949), in the town of Los Robles La Paz, near the city of  Valledupar in northern Colombia, is one of the most renowned singers and composers of the vallenato musical genre. As of 2004 and since the beginning of his career in 1968 he has achieved 25 gold discs, 7 platinum discs and 6 double platinum for his sales, among other numerous musical accomplishments. He has also successfully entered politics as councilor of his hometown, while deputising for Alfredo Cuello Dávila, representing the department of Cesar.

Natalia Hernández Botero

Naty Botero (born Natalia Hernández Botero, February 10, 1980 in Medellín, Colombia) is a Colombian model and singer. Born in Medellín, she moved to Bogotá at a young age and stayed there through high school. Botero studied in both Paris and New York City. Her first full-length album, Naty Botero, was released by Sony BMG in North America in early 2007. It contained the hit "Te Quiero Mucho". Three of Botero's other songs, "Fuego", "Dinosaurio," and "Mío" have appeared in the Colombian Top 40. In January 2007, El Tiempo chose her as that month's featured artist.Botero presented an award at the MTV Video Music Awards Latin America in 2006 to Robbie Williams. She also participated in 2006's "La Mega: Nuestra Tierra" concert, which showcased Colombian performers.

In late 2009 Naty Botero released her second studio album Adicta. "Esta Noche Es Nuestra (Feat. Joe Arroyo)" was chosen as the lead single off the album. "Tu Amor Me Parte En Dos" was chosen as the second single in early 2010 and "Niño Loco" was released as the album's third single. "Niño Loco" is supported by a musical video shot in Costa Rica. More singles were released later: "Adicta (Feat. Tostao)", "Knokeada", and "Mucho Mas".
In 2011 Naty released "Amor de mis amores", a single that was included on her third album.
In late 2013 Naty released her third album Coraje. It features her hit singles "Manifiesto de amor", "Sexo que sana (Feat. Jiggy Drama)", "Jálame el pelo", and "Femme fatale (Feat. Morenito de Fuego)". On March 15 Naty announced Coraje's fifth single "Siempre juntos (Feat. Herencia de Timbiqui)", but in July, Naty released "Rosa" as the fifth single, replacing "Siempre Juntos". "Vino (Feat. La Bermudez)" was released as the sixth single in December. 2015 begins with the release of the seventh single from CORAJE, "Siempre Juntos". Naty perform at a fashion show on June 19, 2015 with the fashion designer Betto Duran (QueenB). In 2016 Naty releases the next single of CORAJE the song "La Lengua" and the final single "Coraje". Other promotional videos have been released: "Secrets (Feat. F3nix Castillo) and "Take You on a Plane (Feat. Savan)". "InDios / InLove" is the name of the fourth album to be released next May 2018 and features the singles "11/11", "Cucurucumbia" and the third single "Llore de felicidad" feat. Charles King.

A decade after the fact,&nbsp;who would've thought that The Departed would turn out to be one of Martin Scorsese’s most debated films? While many viewers believe that the film is a little too on-the-nose thanks to a certain rat who makes an appearance in the last scene, there are plenty of theories about The Departed that beg to differ;&nbsp;they offer up ideas about the subtext that courses through the film.The most interesting thing about the movie&nbsp;isn’t the twist on the gangster story that Scorsese tells, but rather the sexuality in The Departed.&nbsp;Honestly, it's something that can be examined for hours. The biggest hang up about the film is the evidence Matt Damon is gay in The Departed, something that makes the film&nbsp; - a look at the hierarchy of the Boston crime world – even more complicated than it already is.For all the gay bros out there, Colin Sullivan&nbsp;<a href="http://asitecalledfred.com/2006/10/23/nocturnal-admissions-movie-review-the-departed-part-3/">fan theories</a> are infinitely entertaining. Matt Damon’s character takes cues directly out of the closeted jock playbook. Not only does he get way into using homophobic slurs, but his longing looks at his coworkers seem like something that’s more appropriate in an episode of One Tree Hill than in a Scorsese movie.&nbsp;But hey, they work. Damon’s undercover and in the closet routine adds a layer of subtext to this Infernal Affairs remake that gives audiences a reason to go back and watch with a new set of eyes.What do you think? Is Detective Sullivan gay? Or is he just a man’s man who looks good in a suit?
