Have you ever wondered, "Why aren't there bands like Queen anymore?"

It's certainly not for a lack of trying. Countless artists have endeavored to sound like Queen over the years, and many top modern bands, such as Muse, are clearly heavily influenced by the legendary quartet. But, it would be impossible for even Queen's new lineup itself to ever truly match its erstwhile quality.

In similar fashion to the Beatles, Queen is typically regarded in a league of its own because members Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon were able to master the sounds that dominated the music industry at the time, but subvert them in a way that no one else had, or perhaps, could. With timeless classics like "We Will Rock You" and "Bohemian Rhapsody," Queen had its collective finger on the pulse of popular music's future, and the result has been generations of musicians drawing inspiration in varied ways.

Will there ever be another band like Queen? The short answer is, of course not. Setting aside the Sheer virtuosity of Mercury and May, the group's ingenuity at its time caught lightning in a bottle, so any attempt to duplicate them is a Sisyphean task. However, there are throngs of related artists, both old and new, who have managed to capture parts of Queen's essence quite well.

We've listed just a few good musicians who sound similar to the geniuses behind A Night at the Opera below, but it's up to you to decide which artists are the best of the best. Vote up the bands you'd be most likely to recommend to people who are fans of Queen, and be sure to add any that you feel we might have missed.
