'Beauty and the Beast' movie quotes include some of the best lines from the newly re-released, 3D version of this Disney animated classic. 'Beauty and the Beast' was a masterpiece when it was first released in 1991, and the new version features 3D effects and an HD remaster to provide stunning visuals. This "tale as old as time" is the second Disney re-issue in recent months ('The Lion King' did quite well in theaters the second time out). The original 'Beauty and the Beast,' by the way, was the first animated movie to ever garner a Best Picture Oscar nomination. Enjoy these quotes, and if you see a favorite, vote it up! If you have a personal fave quote from 'Beauty and the Beast' that isn't on the list, by all means, add it.
'Beauty and the Beast' follows the tale of Belle, who becomes imprisoned in a castle by the Beast, a former prince who was cursed. If he can't find love -- and find someone to love him in turn, despite his hideous appearance -- he'll remain a beast forever.
Beast: "I want to do something for her - but what?" Cogsworth: "Well, there's the usual things: flowers... chocolates -- promises you don't intend to keep..."
A great quote here from the ever-so-wise Cogsworth the Clock.

He's No Monster

Gaston: "If I didn't know better, I'd think you had feelings for this monster." Belle: "He's no monster, Gaston, you are!"
Tell him, Belle! Gaston is such a complete tool. He's so stuck on himself and his pretty face (and ugly personality) that he can't even tell that Belle can't stand him.

You Came Back
Photo: Walt Disney
Beast: "You...You came back." Belle: "Of course I came back! I couldn't let them...Oh, this is all my fault! If only I'd gotten here sooner!" Beast: "Maybe it's better - it's better this way." Belle: "Don't talk like that. You'll be all right. We're together now. Everything's going to be fine, you'll see!" Beast: "At..at least I got to see you...one last time."
*snif* Of course Belle came back. She loves him! Cue the waterworks, though. If you haven't seen 'Beauty and the Beast,' I'll avoid the spoilers. But bring Kleenex. Lots of it.
Beast: (sings) "She glanced this way, I thought I saw... And when we touched, she didn't shudder at my paw. No - it can't be! I'll just ignore... But then, she's never looked at me that way before."
Another wonderful song from 'Beauty and the Beast': "Something There." Belle is beginning to realize that beauty really is more than skin deep.
Beast: (pounding on Belle's door) "I thought I told you to come down to dinner!" Belle: "I'm not hungry!" Beast: "You'll come out, or I'll...I'll...I'll break down the door!" Lumiere: "Master, I could be wrong, but that might not be the best way to win the girl's affections..."
Okay Beast, listen to wise Lumiere. Tone it down a little if you want to win Belle's heart. She's your prisoner, after all, so she's not entirely happy to be in the castle in the first place. Tread lightly.
Beast: (roaring) "That hurts!!" Belle: "If you'd hold still it wouldn't hurt as much!" Beast: "If you hadn't run away, this wouldn't have happened." Belle: "If you hadn't frightened me I wouldn't have run away." Beast: "Well you shouldn't have been in the west wing..." Belle: "Well you should learn to control your temper!"
Beasts will be beasts. Belle is certainly a brave one - the Beast's roaring doesn't seem to phase her at all. He, understandably, isn't quite sure what to make of her kindness...
