A Lot Harder Than Most People Think

It is not as simple as pouring beers and smiling. You need to know how to make a lot of drinks, you have to deal with intoxicated people on a regular basis, and you have to keep track of people and their bills.

    Demanding

When it comes to football season and holidays, people flock to bars like moths to lights. For the bartenders, this means being at the top of their game and being able to tackle their responsibilities fast, efficiently, and often.

    Perfectly Accceptable

Like waitressing, people assume that if you are working as a bartender, it's because you don't have a college degree or have run out of other options. Not true.

    Stressful

On a Saturday night, bartenders don't stop moving around. Their minds are constantly going, remembering orders, refilling kegs, splitting checks, and trying to please all these thirsty people.

    Addicting

There is a reason why people stay in bartending jobs for so long. If you find the right place to work at, with good coworkers and customers that tip well, it is perfect.

Only Worth It on Busy Weekend Nights

If you are going to give up your social life to work, you want to at least make sure it is going to be worth your while. It sucks having to waste five hours of your night at an empty bar and only walking away with $20.00.
