The new millennium saw a resurgence of the superhero movie, and towards the tail end of the 2000s, superhero movies had all but taken over. These are the very best 2000s superhero movies, ranked from best to worst by fans of caped crusaders all over the world. These movies came to us from a variety of source material with a truly diverse spectrum of heroes. Some of these great 00s superhero films feature a team of heroes working together, while others revolve around one man's quest to save the world. Many of the greatest 2000s superhero movies have of course spawned billion dollar franchises and have changed the face of cinema forever.

What movies should you find on this best 00s superhero movies list? When thinking about great superhero films of the 2000s, Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight has to be near the top. Christian Bale's Batman was mysterious and strong and the supporting cast of Gary Oldman, Heath Ledger, and Michael Caine, only added to the drama. X-Men is also a popular superhero movie that was released in the 2000s.

The 2009 film The Watchmen flipped the script on superhero movies when popular masked crusaders were pitted as criminals. Other good films on the top 2000s superhero movies list include Hellboy, Iron Man, and Spider-Man.
