A list of 2000s action films shows a very interesting trend: the unlikely action hero. 00s action movies also include some of the most profitable action franchises in film history. With so many great films from which to choose, it's up to you to decide the top 00s action movies.

At quick glance, you'll notice that this 2000s action movies list is dominated by actors who up until this point had played more serious roles. There's Matt Damon in The Bourne Identity, Liam Neeson in Taken, and Uma Thurman in Kill Bill Volume I and II. The 2000s also saw the spawn of some billion-dollar franchises. The Fast and the Furious has turned into an incredibly profitable series - of the ones released in the 2000s, which are the best? The Transformers, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Bond are also notable action franchises of the decade.
