If you're in the mood for a good laugh, you're in luck because we want you to vote for the best comedy movies of the 2010s. Comedies have been one of the most popular genres since the earliest days of cinema. That's because, during the silent era, physical comedy was a natural fit for the visual medium. As the decades have gone by, motion pictures have been able to embrace edgier, naughtier humor than would have been possible during the 1920s through the 1950s. In fact, some of the top 2010s comedy movies have been very R rated.
That said, there's a nice diversity in recent comedy films. Titles like Good Boys, Ted, and Horrible Bosses certainly push the envelope. Other funny flicks have a more gentle type of humor. The family-friendly Paddington 2, for example, is widely beloved. It even boasts a perfect 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Another notable trait is that many of the 2010s greatest comedy movies -- like Girls Trip, Booksmart, and Bridesmaids -- are all female-centered. Hard as it is to believe, there was once a time, not that long ago, when it was a rarity for women to topline a major studio comedy. All in all, the genre is alive and well right now.
