The Best 2019 Movies That Pass The Bechdel Test

Which are the best movies that pass the Bechdel Test in 2019? In case you’re not familiar with Alison Bechdel’s test, the rules are very simple. The film has to meet three criteria: it has to have at least two women in it, who talk to each other, about something besides a man.

The rules only sound uncomplicated. However, it’s estimated that about 40 percent of 2019 movies made in the United States will fail the Bechdel Test. Despite the uptick in female-led reboots like Ocean’s 8 and Ghostbusters, it’s still a man’s world when it comes to Hollywood stories. The landscape may be becoming a bit more gender-neutral, but there is still a long way to go in terms of narrative gender equality.

Remember the films do not even have to have a female in the starring role, or lean towards feminism in the slightest. They just have to follow three simple rules.
