The best '50s fantasy movies are all about using your imagination to transport you to another time and place. Several Disney fantasy titles came out in the 1950s, such as Peter Pan, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Alice in Wonderland. In Peter Pan, three ordinary children named Wendy, Michael, and John are transported to Neverland, a place where children never grow up. Alice in Wonderland allows viewers to follow Alice down the rabbit hole and into a topsy-turvy universe, where Cheshire cats disappear and rabbits have tea parties and pocket watches.

Bell, Book, and Candle tells the story of a witch who falls for a mortal, keeping up with the theme of fantasy mixed with reality. Likewise, Disney’s Cinderella explores the idea of using magic to help make all of your dreams come true. Brigadoon tells the story of a small Scottish town that only appears once every hundred years. And don’t miss Journey to the Center of the Earth… exciting, but not the best locale for your next vacation.
