List Rules Vote up your favorite monster films that were released in the 1950s.

The best horror movies of the 50s are just waiting for you to rank them, so if you're a classic horror geek, then this list is where you make your opinion count. These are the legends that started it all. Back then you didn't need color to be scary, as most of the best 50's horror movies are in black and white. Almost 70 years later these films still have an impact on modern monster movies, with some franchises even pumping out new films.

Back in the 50's Christopher Lee was Hollywood royalty. He starred in more than one great monster movie from the 50's, including the iconic Dracula that made him a legend to this day.

One of the most iconic monster movies of the 50s is The Blob, with legendary Steve McQueen. Who could forget those unforgettable moments of the Blob taking over the city? It really was a great decade for scary monster films.

Vote for your favorites on this list of 50's monster movies, and downvote any that you really wouldn't recommend to others who are new to classic monster movies.
