When you’re in the mood for a good laugh, there’s no better medium than the televised situational comedy. Sitcoms are designed to make the viewer laugh and forget about any and all problems for at least a half hour. Some of television history’s best, most classic, sitcoms aired in the 60s, as television was finally finding its groove. Whether you wanted to watch the top comedians of the day perform, or enjoy fantastical and hilarious situations, the best 60s sitcoms offered entertainment for every type of audience.

The 1960s was a decade filled with some of the best sitcoms ever written. Shows like "The Andy Griffith Show," "Leave it to Beaver," and "The Dick Van Dyke Show" still air on various television stations to be enjoyed by new and old audiences alike. Many 60s sitcoms were eventually turned into movies, such as "Bewtiched" and "Get Smart," partially due to the timeless nature of their stories.
