During the 1970s, Bollywood filmmakers rejected the realism of the ’50s and ’60s for a more escapist kind of movie resulting in a filmmaking style called Masala; a form that continues to dominate Bollywood today. Featured on this list of 1970s Bollywood movies are several by Manmohan Desai, who is considered the father of the Masala film. If you have a favorite Hindi movie from the 70s, give it an upvote so it can reach #1.
