A true story about Brian Piccolo and Gale Sayers, it was so popular on ABC that it was immediately shown in theaters shortly after airing. Burt Reynold's The Longest Yard was such a great football movie of the 70s, it inspired two other movies, including a remake of the same name starring Chris Rock and Adam Sandler.
