Based on the true story of Ed Gein, it is not only a top 70’s slasher movie, but one of the best horror films of all time.

Or maybe Halloween, starring Jamie Lee Curtis, is your 1970s slasher movie pick. It's also based on a true story of Mike Myers, a serial killer who escaped from an insane asylum. The film spawned almost 10 sequels over the years, becoming a truly iconic horror franchise.
