List RulesVote up your favorite slasher films that were released in the 1970s.

For all you horror fanatics out there, we're ranking the best 70's slasher movies of all time, with the help of your votes. Which is the greatest 1970s slasher movie? The 70s gave birth to multiple legendary slasher franchises, so that isn't an easy question to answer.  If you just want guts and gore, Tobe Hooper’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre might make you scream. Based on the true story of Ed Gein, it is not only a top 70’s slasher movie, but one of the best horror films of all time.

Or maybe Halloween, starring Jamie Lee Curtis, is your 1970s slasher movie pick. It's also based on a true story of Mike Myers, a serial killer who escaped from an insane asylum. The film spawned almost 10 sequels over the years, becoming a truly iconic horror franchise.

No matter what you're a fan of, this list of 70s slasher films will surely have something you'll love. Upvote your favorites below, and downvote a movie if you wouldn't recommend it to others.
