These are the best 1970s superhero movies, ranked from best to worst. These superhero movies sparked the curiosity of fans around the globe and lead to some of Hollywood's most successful franchises. Some great 70s superhero films were remade later on and became even bigger hits, while a few of these other movies didn't see much box office success, but remain cult favorites to this day. 

What movies will one find on this list? It can be argued that the 1978 release of Superman, served as the dawning of the age of the modern superhero movie. Christopher Reeve represented everything that was good and honorable in the title role. The Super Inframan is another good superhero movie that was released in the 1970s.

Blaxploitation superhero movies, like Friday Foster and Abar: Black Superman, also rose in popularity in the 1970s. Other great films that are featured on this top 1970s superhero movies list include Captain America, Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze and Hydro-Riddle.
