Boxing in the 1980s saw the exit of Muhammad Ali, the continuing rise of Don King as the sport's most famous promoter, as well as the rise of rival promoters like Bob Arum. The decade as saw a rivalry between five world champions - Wilfred Benitez, Roberto Duran, Marvin Hagler, Thomas Hearns, and Sugar Ray Leonard, all of whom would eventually find themselves among the greatest boxers of all time. The 80s also saw the rise of Mike Tyson as a dominant fighter who would be crowned World Champion in 1986.
