That is, until an alien creature known as a Parasyte enters his brain and attempts to take over his body. The Parasyte, Migi, messes up and ends up in Shinichi's hand, rather than his brain. Since the two have separate thoughts, they work together with their combined strength to take down other Parasytes and survive as a duo.
