List Rules This list includes studio albums only, so if you add an album make sure it's a proper studio release.

Alice in Chains are widely considered one of the best Seattle bands, best alternative rock bands and one of the best rock bands of all time. Since they’re such an influential band, let’s rank the best Alice in Chains albums, with the help of your votes. Known as one of the first grunge bands to emerge from the then untapped Seattle scene of the late ‘80s, Alice in Chains merged Jerry Cantrell’s heavy, sludge-filled guitar melodies and Layne Staley’s guttural vocals, which satisfied metal fans and alternative rock fans alike. While it can be argued that any one of Alice in Chains’ albums are perfect examples of solid alternative metal (now known as “grunge”), the band hit a cultural high point with Dirt (1992) containing five top 40 singles, including “Would?” which was featured in Cameron Crowe’s Singles.

This Alice in Chains discography is ranked from best to worst, so the top Alice in Chains albums can be found at the top of the list. To make it easy for you, we haven't included Alice in Chains singles, EPs, or compilations, so everything you see here should only be studio albums. If you think the greatest Alice in Chains album isn't high enough on the list, then be sure to vote for it so it receives the credit it deserves.

This list of popular Alice in Chains CDs has been voted on by music fans around the world, so the order of this list isn't just one person's opinion. Make sure you don't just vote for critically acclaimed albums; if you have a favorite Alice in Chains album, then vote it up, even if it's not necessarily the most popular.
