Over the years, several great U.S shows have been developed from hit UK television. Many of the greatest adapted UK TV shows are reality competitions, but many U.S. versions of UK shows are hilarious comedies.

What kinds of wonderful television programming will you find on this best American versions of British shows list? The Office appears near the top of this list. This hilarious U.S. sitcom was created by Ricky Gervais, who also starred in the original UK version. House of Cards is another good U.S. series adapted from a British show.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? was very popular in the U.S. after its initial success in the UK. Other good American versions of UK shows include Dancing with the Stars, Undercover Boss, and Kitchen Nightmares.
