The Best Amiibos For Super Smash Bros.

List RulesVote up the amiibos that give you a great advantage in your game.

If there's one thing you can say about Nintendo, it's that the company knows how to market its products. Take the Amiibo line of toys/game add-ons, for example, these are simple devices that not only make for adorable collectibles, but they are also incredibly useful in-game. You can take an Amiibo of your favorite character, throw it onto your Nintendo DS, 3DS, Switch, Wii U, or whatever else might work and suddenly gain a huge advantage in the game you are playing.

Not only are Amiibo cute and useful, but they are also highly collectible. Nintendo only releases a certain amount of figures and then cuts production, which limits the number of people who can get a specific unit. Need that one Link or Mario to take out the competition in Super Smash Bros. or another one of Nintendo's popular games? You may have to pony up some serious dough. The best Amiibos are often the ones most people never have a chance to collect and you can find them all compiled here on this list.

For Super Smash Bros., having the right Amiibo is more about training them and building them up over time. Each time one is used in the game, the player will be able to level them up, but they can also learn new tactics and improve gameplay so the best ones are the ones each player invests their time in. Because of this, only the most collectible and sought-after Amiibos from the SSMB series are listed here. Vote up the best Amiibos to use in the Super Smash Bros. games.

When it comes to Nintendo's cutest characters, you don't have to look much further than the giant pink puffball himself, Kirby. This version of Kirby came from the Super Smash Bros. Series for release on the Wii U and remains one of the most popular Amiibos for use in the game. Nintendo's description:

Round, pink and surprisingly powerful, Kirby is one of the most iconic heroes in video game history. A denizen of the peaceful planet Pop Star, Kirby became a citizen of Dream Land after defeating King Dedede. He can inhale things with his big mouth, either copying their abilities or spitting them out again.

There are a ton of Pokémon players can use and abuse in SSB, but the one most players want to add to their Amiibo collection is often Charizard. This Fire/Flying-Type Pokémon is a classic dragon in appearance and an amazing addition to any Amiibo collection. Charizards first appeared back in 1996 with Pokémon Red Version/Green Version and have remained a staple of the franchise ever since. Nintendo's description:

Charizard is the iconic Fire- and Flying-type Pokémon. Its scorching fiery breath can melt anything in its path. Charizard is known to fly around the sky in search of powerful opponents. However, it never turns its fire on opponents weaker than itself.

Cloud made his first appearance in the mega-hit, Final Fantasy VII, but he hasn't remained in the franchise since his debut. He has long been a playable character outside of the Final Fantasy franchise and was a perfect choice for the 10th wave of SSBS. He was released as a Gamestop exclusive alongside another (Player 2) version, but this is the preferred Amiibo for collectors who have to put at least one Cloud on their shelves. Nintendo's description:

The protagonist of Final Fantasy VII, Cloud wields the enormous Buster Sword, a memento from his comrade Zack. Once a soldier of Shinra, he now fights as a mercenary against the corporation he originally served. His decision to join avalanche's insurgence, however, will transform his destiny.

Luigi may have started out life as just a second player version of his brother Mario, but he's evolved from those days of only being a green-suited version of Mario. Luigi has starred in nearly as many games as his diminutive brother and even has his own mansion! You can add him to your collection and power him up to become a major player in your SSBS library! Nintendo's description:

Luigi is shy, quiet and often overshadowed by his sibling, but he's actually quite talented. His jumping ability surpasses Mario's, and his all-around skills let him overcome any problem. He's a bit cowardly and really afraid of ghosts. Even so, in the Luigi's Mansion games, he was charged with cleaning up poltergeist problems.
