The best Amy Adams movies of all time prove that she’s one of the top actresses of her generation. Since the early 2000s, she has appeared in plenty of blockbusters and critically-acclaimed movies, earning awards and accolades along the way. Her highest grossing movies have been well-received at the box office as well, as her lifetime box office gross exceeds $1 billion.

Amy Adams was born in Vicenza, Italy to a military family that moved around the world from base to base for several years, eventually settling in Colorado. Her parents eventually divorced and 1985 and Adams went on to live with her mother at the age of eighteen. After graduating high school, Adams began work as a dancer in playhouses and dinner theaters for the next few years until she landed a small role in the film Drop Dead Gorgeous. After moving to Los Angeles in 1999, she started having small roles and guest starring on shows like That ‘70s Show, The Office, and Smallville.

One of her first big movie roles was in the indie movie Junebug, in which she played a cheerful pregnant woman. While that movie was not widely released, it is regarded as one of the best Amy Adams movies and the role did get her noticed. From that point, she went on to star in several movies in supporting roles. Then she went on to play Lois Lane in Man of Steel, which is one of the most important characters in comics. Amy Adam then reprised the role in the sequel Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and will probably return to the character in the future.
