One example of a great forest anime is the critically acclaimed Princess Mononoke by Hayao Miyazaki. In this epic fantasy, the focus is on environmental and natural themes and how humans impact earth. Another good anime about forests is Mushishi: Zoku-Shō, which is actually the second season of an anime first done by Artland. Based on the manga Mushishi by Yuki Urushibara, the story follows main character Ginko as he protects the human world from Mushi, a kind of supernatural creature.
