The 25+ Best Anime Set in Europe

It turns out there are some great anime set in Europe, but which are really worth your time? This list ranks the best anime about Europe and its culture, including older titles, as well as new European anime that you may not know about.

One example is Mahou Tsukai no Yome, a recent anime set in Europe which made its debut in 2017. Based on the fantasy manga by Kore Yamazaki, the story follows Chise Hatori, a young magus who is apprentice of (and promised to) Elias Ainsworth, also known as the Child of Thorns or the Thorn Sorcerer. Another good anime about Europe is Hayao Miyazaki's Kiki's Delivery Service, which won the Animage Anime Grand Prix prize in 1989. The story is set in fictional northern Europe, where Kiki uses her flying ability to earn a living.
