If you want a more optimistic approach to Assassination Classroom, then My Hero Academia is the anime for you. Instead of students learning to master the art of assassination to kill their teacher and save the world, My Hero Academia is about a class of young superheroes learning how to protect the world from comic book style evildoers. The teacher/apprentice relationship between Izuku "Deku" Midoriya and his idol superhero, All Might, is nothing short of charming.

  • Danganronpa The Animation

Danganronpa The Animation comes the closest to matching the style of Assassination Classroom, as both shows place their young characters in a "kill or be killed" situation. In the case of Danganronpa The Animation, the students of Hope's Peak Academy must eliminate each other if they ever want to get out alive. Cheering them on is a creepy teddy bear instructor named Monokuma, who serves as the Koro-sensei of the series.

Fans of Assassination Classroom will appreciate the clever take on high school life. On the surface, it doesn't seem like Assassination Classroom and One-Punch Man have much in common. After all, Koro-sensei wants to destroy the world, while the superheroic Saitama from One-Punch Man saves the world. However, both of these overpowered characters share the same desire of fighting someone that's greater than them. Koro-sensei wants his students to kill him, while Saitama wants someone to bring back the thrill of being a superhero again.

  • Riddle Story of Devil has a similar premise to Assassination Classroom, but offers lesbian representation with its female-driven cast. High school girl Tokaku Azuma discovers her fellow classmates at Myoujou Academy are actually assassins just like her. They're ordered to kill a sweet-natured girl named Haru Ichinose for the promise of whatever their heart desires, but after bonding with Haru, Tokaku decides to protect her instead.

Assassination Classroom is all about Koro-sensei teaching his cold-blooded students the true art of killing. Keeping in the spirit, Reborn! is about a strange baby hitman named Reborn who tasked with an impossible mission: Turning the clumsy middle school "loser," Tsunayoshi Sawada, into a proper mob boss to rule the notorious Vongola family.
