It's time to look at recommendations for anime similar to Welcome to the N.H.K. This series about the lives of young adults in Tokyo ran for 24 episodes back in 2006, but many fans who just discovered the show are hungry for more similar anime.

For starters, there's the 2011 anime series Steins;Gate, a sci-fi adventure that like Welcome to the N.H.K. also centers on a core group and their (time-traveling) lives. Still other similar anime include The Tatami Galaxy, Genshiken, and ReLIFE. You could also check out Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei, as well as SOS Brigade where the core group consists of an alien, a time traveler, an esper, a mysterious girl, and a high school boy.
