A list of the best Atlanta Falcons of all time. Formed in 1966, the first few decades of the team's history wasn't too promising. The Falcons didn't reach the playoffs until 1978, and had only five playoff berths in its first 30 years. Atlanta has had some of the most entertaining teams in the league with a bunch of superstar players. These Falcons can be considered some of the best players in team history.Beginning in 1989 with the drafting of one of the <a href="http://www.ranker.com/crowdranked-list/best-football-players-ever">best players of all time</a> in Deion Sanders. With &quot;Prime Time&quot; and other great players like Andre Rison and Terence Mathis, the Falcons were <a href="https://www.ranker.com/list/best-movies-to-watch-while-drinking/anncasano?ref=internalCrossLinking_keyword">fun to watch</a>. In 1998, Jamal Anderson powered the Falcons to the franchise's first Super Bowl berth. Though the team lost to the Broncos in Super Bowl XXXIII, it was a turning point for the Falcons. Under Michael VIck, the Falcons reached the playoffs twice. Say what you want about Vick, but he's one of the best Falcons of all time. More recently, Matt Ryan has been at the helm of the most prosperous era in Falcons history. The team had its first consecutive winning seasons in 2008-09 and the future looks bright with Ryan as the quarterback.This is the list of the best Atlanta Falcons of all time. However Atlanta was a dominant force that year finishing the regular season with a 14-2 record. Julio Jones

Quintorris Lopez "Julio" Jones (; born February 8, 1989) is an American football wide receiver for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Alabama, and was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons sixth overall in the 2011 NFL Draft.
During his sophomore season with Alabama in 2009, Jones helped lead the Crimson Tide to an undefeated 14–0 season, including a victory in the 2010 BCS National Championship Game. With the Atlanta Falcons, Jones has been invited to six Pro Bowls, was a first-team All-Pro selection in 2015 after leading the league in receiving yards and receptions, and in 2016 when he helped lead the Atlanta Falcons to Super Bowl LI. Jones was also named second-team All-Pro twice, in 2017 and in 2018 after leading the league in receiving yards.
Jones has a rare combination of size (6 ft 3 in and 220 lbs), speed (40-yard dash in 4.39 seconds), catching ability,  strength, leaping ability, and body control. Jones has led the league in receiving yards twice in his career, in 2015 with 1,871 yards and in 2018 with 1,677 yards. On November 11, 2018, Jones became the fastest player in NFL history to reach 10,000 career receiving yards, accomplishing the feat in 104 games. His career average of 96.7 receiving yards per game is the highest in NFL history.

Roddy White

Sharod Lamor "Roddy" White (born November 2, 1981) is a former American football wide receiver who played his entire professional career with the Atlanta Falcons. He played college football at UAB, and was drafted by the Falcons in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft.

Andre Rison

Andre "Bad Moon" Rison (born March 18, 1967) is a former American football wide receiver who played professionally for the National Football League's Indianapolis Colts, Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, and the Canadian Football League's Toronto Argonauts. Rison was selected to the Pro Bowl five times, from 1990–1993 and once again in 1997.
Rison won a Super Bowl championship with the Packers in 1996 over the New England Patriots, scoring the first points of the game on a 54-yard touchdown catch from quarterback Brett Favre.  He also won a Grey Cup championship with the Toronto Argonauts in 2004. He is one of the few players to win professional football championships in both the United States of America and Canada. He was released by the Argonauts during the 2005 CFL season. He holds an NFL record for scoring a touchdown with 7 teams.
He was a star player at Flint Northwestern High School and in college at Michigan State University. As a senior at Michigan State, Rison had 30 receptions for 709 yards and 5 touchdowns; he was a prominent contributor to the 1987 Michigan State squad that won the Rose Bowl on January 1, 1988.

Terance Mathis

Terance Paul Mathis (born June 7, 1967) is an American former Pro Bowl wide receiver in the NFL and at one time Vice President of Marketing for NASCAR's Leavine Family Racing Drafted in 1990 by the New York Jets, he played the majority of his career with the Atlanta Falcons. He last played in the NFL in 2002 with the Pittsburgh Steelers, then retired after the conclusion of the 2002 season. Currently, he is second in career two-point conversions with six, behind  Marshall Faulk's seven.
On February 1, 2011, Mathis was named as the Offensive Coordinator at Savannah State University.
On May 3, 2017, Mathis was named as the Head Football Coach at Pinecrest Academy in Cumming, Georgia.

Alfred Jenkins

Alfred Donnell Jenkins (born January 25, 1952), is a former professional American football wide receiver who played for the Birmingham Americans in 1974 and nine seasons for the Atlanta Falcons from 1975 through 1983. Jenkins was selected to the Pro Bowl during the 1980 and 1981 seasons and is considered the most successful NFL player from the short-lived  World Football League.Jenkins has three children, Kellie Jenkins, Astarrte Waites and Alfred Cornell Jenkins, and four grandchildren, Willie Matthews, Shacquayvia Jenkins, Zancquayvia Jenkins, and Eva Ware.

Mohamed Sanu

Mohamed Sanu Sr. (born August 22, 1989) is an American football wide receiver for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft and played college football at Rutgers.

Brian Finneran

Brian Joseph Finneran (born January 31, 1976) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League. He was signed by  the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 1998 and also played for the Barcelona Dragons, Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons. He played college football at Villanova.



Drew Hill

Andrew Hill (October 5, 1956 – March 19, 2011) was a professional American football player who was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the 12th round of the 1979 NFL Draft.A 5 ft 9 in (1.75 m), 170 lb wide receiver from Georgia Tech, Hill played in 14 NFL seasons from 1979 to 1982 and from 1984 to 1993. As a member of the Houston Oilers, he set the team's record for most career pass receptions. He teamed with Ernest Givins, Curtis Duncan, Haywood Jeffires and Warren Moon in the Oilers' Run & Shoot offense. A two-time Pro Bowl selection in 1988 and 1990, Hill retired after the 1993 season as a member of the Atlanta Falcons.

Wallace Francis

Wallace Doroin  Francis (born November 7, 1951), is a former professional American football wide receiver who played 9 years in the National Football League for the Buffalo Bills and the Atlanta Falcons from 1973 to 1981.
Francis played college football at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

Ken Burrow

Ken Burrow (born March 29, 1948 in Richmond, California) is a former professional American football player who played wide receiver for five seasons for the Atlanta Falcons.  He scored 21 touchdowns, 2693 yards (2668 receiving on 152 receptions).  He played college ball at San Diego State University and high school at De Anza High School.

Harry Douglas IV (born September 16, 1984) is a former American football wide receiver. He was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft. Douglas played college football at Louisville.

Mike Pritchard

Michael Robert Pritchard (b. October 26, 1969) is a former American football player who played collegiately at the University of Colorado and professionally for various teams over a nine-year career.
Pritchard grew up in Las Vegas and starred as an all-purpose back.  His athletic talent attracted attention from collegiate football programs from across the nation.  Pritchard eventually accepted an athletic scholarship offer from head coach Bill McCartney of the University of Colorado.  He was part of the legendary 1987 recruiting class at Colorado that included Eric Bieniemy, George Hemingway, Alfred Williams, and Kanavis McGhee, all of whom were key players on the 1990 National Championship team.
At Colorado, Pritchard was a versatile player who excelled at a variety of positions, including wide receiver, kick returner, and running back.  He started the 1990 season opener at running back, carrying the ball 20 times for 217 yards and two touchdowns.  It was his only career start at that position.  Pritchard averaged 26.4 yards per pass reception for his career, a mark that remains a school record.  His 17.9 average per touch on offense also remains the best in school history.  
Pritchard earned a number of honors while at CU.  As a senior in 1990, he was named first-team All-Big Eight at wide receiver, also garnering honorable mention All-American honors from the UPI.  That same year he was named the most valuable player on CU's national championship team, the only one in school history.  Pritchard was later inducted into the University of Colorado sports Hall of Fame in 2015.
Pritchard  was the first of nine Colorado players selected in the 1991 NFL Draft.  He was selected 13th overall by the Atlanta Falcons.  He played nine seasons in the NFL, spending time with Atlanta (1991-93), Denver (1994-95) and Seattle (1996-99).  Pritchard had his best professional season in 1992 while he was with the Falcons.  That year he caught 77 receptions for 827 yards and scored 5 touchdowns.  In 127 career NFL games, he caught 422 passes for 5,178 yards (12.3 yard average) and scored 26 touchdowns.  
After his playing career, he moved back to his hometown of Las Vegas where he embarked on a broadcasting career doing color commentary on the UNLV radio network.  He has also appeared on TV and radio as a commentator and in both the Las Vegas and Denver areas.

Tim Dwight

Timothy John Dwight Jr. (born July 13, 1975) is a former professional American football player who was a wide receiver and return specialist in the National Football League (NFL) for ten seasons.  He played college football for the University of Iowa, and was a two-time All-American.  He was originally drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the fourth round of the 1998 NFL Draft, and he played professionally for the Falcons, San Diego Chargers, New England Patriots, New York Jets and Oakland Raiders of the NFL.
Dwight is remembered for his 94-yard touchdown return on a kickoff in Super Bowl XXXIII against the Denver Broncos.

Alfred Jackson

Alfred Jackson (born August 3, 1955), is a former professional American football wide receiver who played 7 seasons in the National Football League for the Atlanta Falcons from 1978 to 1984.

Michael Haynes

Michael David Haynes (born December 24, 1965) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League. He was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the seventh round of the 1988 NFL Draft. He played college football at Northern Arizona. Haynes also played for the New Orleans Saints.

Dez White

Edward Dezmon White (born August 23, 1979, in Orange Park, Florida) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League. White was selected in the third round of the 2000 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears, then had a brief stint with the Atlanta Falcons. White attended the Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida, and played on the state championship football team in 1995 and the state runners-up team in 1996. White played college football for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. He is the cousin of Chicago Rush wide receiver Carlos Wright.

Bert Emanuel

Bert Tyrone Emanuel (born October 26, 1970) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League. He was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the second round of the 1994 NFL Draft. He played college football at Rice.
Emanuel also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, and Detroit Lions.

Tony Martin

Tony Derrick Martin (born September 5, 1965), is a former professional American football player who was selected by the New York Jets in the 5th round of the 1989 NFL Draft. A 6'1", 177-lb. wide receiver from Mesa State College.



Charlie Brown

Charles Brown (born October 29, 1958) is a former professional American football wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for six seasons for the Washington Redskins (and helped win Super Bowl XVII in his rookie season) and Atlanta Falcons.  He was traded by the Redskins to the Falcons on August 26, 1985, in exchange for Pro Bowl guard R.C. Thielemann. He was nicknamed "Good ol' Charlie Brown" in reference to the eponymous comic strip character.
He played college football at South Carolina State University and was drafted in the eighth round of the 1981 NFL Draft. Brown played wide receiver and defensive back for the Washington Commandos of the Arena Football League in 1990. He was a receiver for the short-lived Washington Marauders of the Professional Spring Football League in 1992. Brown was head coach of the Savannah High Blue Jackets (Savannah,Georgia) of the Savannah Chatham County Football League.
He is currently wide receivers coach of Marlboro County High School Bulldogs varsity football team in Bennettsville, South Carolina.

Billy Ryckman

William Thomas Ryckman is a former professional American football player who played wide receiver for three seasons with the Atlanta Falcons.  He is the host of The Sports Note, a sports talk radio program aired on ESPN radio affiliate KPEL 1420 AM in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Shawn Jefferson

Vanchi LaShawn "Shawn" Jefferson (born February 22, 1969) is a former American football wide receiver who was selected by the Houston Oilers in the ninth round of the 1991 NFL Draft.  He played college football at the University of Central Florida.
In his career, Jefferson appeared in 195 games (along with 12 postseason games), and two Super Bowl appearances (Super Bowl XXIX and Super Bowl XXXI). He finished his career with 470 receptions for 7,023 yards and 29 touchdowns.
He was the Detroit Lions wide receivers coach, after serving as an offensive assistant for the team in 2007.  In 2013, he joined the Tennessee Titans coaching staff and would serve as wide receivers coach until the 2015 NFL season.
On January 12, 2016, Jefferson was named wide receivers coach of the Miami Dolphins under head coach Adam Gase.
His son, Van Jefferson, is a wide receiver at the University of Florida.

Joe Horn

Joseph Horn (born January 16, 1972) is a former American football wide receiver and current assistant coach at Northeast Mississippi Community College. He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fifth round of the 1996 NFL Draft, and also played for the New Orleans Saints, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Memphis Mad Dogs of the Canadian Football League and the Iowa Central Tritons. He played college football at Itawamba Community College.

Shawn Collins

Shawn Collins (born February 20, 1967) is a former professional American football wide receiver in the National Football League. He was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the first round of the 1989 NFL Draft. He played college football at Northern Arizona.
Collins also played for the Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers and Frankfurt Galaxy.  He played in the Canadian Football League in 1995 for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Memphis Mad Dogs.

Floyd Dixon

Floyd Eugene Dixon (born April 9, 1964 in Beaumont, Texas) is a former professional American football wide receiver in the National Football League for seven seasons for the Atlanta Falcons and the Philadelphia Eagles.   He played college football at Stephen F. Austin State University and was drafted in the sixth round of the 1986 NFL Draft.
