Any respectable list of British romantic comedies is going to have the mainstays: Bridget Jones’s Diary, Notting Hill, About a Boy, and Love Actually are all among the best British romantic comedies ever made, so of course those films are high on this list. But if you dig a little deeper you’ll find undiscovered gems. Some of the best British rom-coms never made a huge splash outside England, but luckily, this list shows love for them all.
Among the British romantic comedy movies on this list, you'll even find some that inexplicably don't star Hugh Grant. Yes, somehow, films like Shakespeare in Love, About Time, and Alfie all manage to be swooning English romances and charming comedies without the presence of the U.K.'s most endearingly nervous leading man.
