Ever wondered which Cards Against Humanity expansions are the best? Well, you're in luck because we're ranking the best, most over-the-top CAH expansions ever released, from the odd and awkward Absurd Box to the retro and rad '90s Nostalgia Pack and more.

Cards Against Humanity debuted in 2011 as one of the most ridiculous, raunchy, and innovative party games ever created, and if you've played it, you know why. The game forces players to create combinations of cards with the purpose of being the funniest possible sentence ever created in the English language. Game nights featuring CAH are the kinds of evenings you would never play with your prospective in-laws, but you'll absolutely want to play with your siblings, closest friends, or neighbor you want to freak out as much as possible.

Since the game was first released following a successful Kickstarter campaign, Cards Against Humanity LLC has released over 40 expansion packs, updates to their original cards, and everything else imaginable that follows the CAH theme. Check out these 20 best expansion packs released since the game first came out, and don't forget to find the one you consider the nastiest, raunchiest, and inappropriate of them all. In other words, vote up all the best Cards Against Humanity expansions so readers can see which of the many CAH expansions is the most outrageous of them all!

  • Number of Cards: 30

Theme: Yes, it's exactly what it sounds like. Complete with its own handy absorbent pad, the Period Pack comes with 30 new cards that were, and we quote, "written while we were all on our periods."

According to the creators of this particular expansion, this pack is best played every 25 to 35 days. Amazon reviewer Kessa Rigali-Bishop wrote:

Okay so listen up I dont write many reviews because most things are to my expectations but this bad boy is fricking buzz lightyear. This pack went so far above and beyond. Not only were the cards hilarious (as I am female, might be a tad gross for males) but the damn pack comes wrapped inside a fricking pad with a lil heart chocolate. I was laughing for 5 minutes at the packaging alone.

Theme: If it's not obvious what this expansion pack is all about, you may already have some of your own. This pack celebrates all things weed, so expect comments about Taco Bell, getting blazed, and 4:20. Of course, the company describes this pack as "Honestly, not a great pack. Maybe skip this one," so who knows?

Obviously, it doesn't come with any marijuana, but it does include a rolling paper... so, that's something. Profits from the sale of this pack go to the Marijuana Policy Project. Amazon reviewer Amber wrote:

My Dad thought it was a lil bag of weed for a sec. BAHAHAHA!! He had to do a double take. That was worth the $7 alone.

      • Number of Cards: 300

Theme: The Absurd Box contains cards that have been identified as the strangest, weirdest, and most absurd created by the team behind Cards Against Humanity. According to the company, "These cards came to us after wandering the desert for 20 years." Amazon reviewer Mark S wrote:

Wow, this is absurd. It's a box, with 6 visible sides, filled with a bunch of cards with words printed on them. I have never seen anything so absurd in my life. Other than perhaps the box design, and that hang gliding giraffe that one time.

Theme: It's no longer embarrassing to be a geek in the world today, and to celebrate that fact, Cards Against Humanity has highlighted geek culture in this incredible pack, which was previously released exclusively at PAX East and PAX Prime in 2013 and 2014.

Celebrate everything from Dungeons & Dragons to Batman as you prove your geekiness to your family and friends with these fun cards. Amazon reviewer Michaela wrote:

A fun little add-in for the main box of CAH. Good breadth of nerd jokes; grab these if your friend circle includes nerds and you like Magic and Star Trek jokes
