Castlevania is a Netflix original, adult animated web television series based on the video game series of the same name by Konami. The story follows Trevor Belmont, Alucard and Sypha Belnades as they defend the nation of Wallachia from Dracula and his minions. Castlevania premiered on Netflix on July 7, 2017. With an art style heavily influenced by Japanese Anime and Ayami Kojima's artwork in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, the story of Castlevania itself was described by the show’s writer Warren Ellis as a “Japanese transposition of the Hammer Horror films I grew up with and loved.”
