There are so many movies made for children today that there needs to be something that makes a picture stand out. The best CGI effects in kids films are used to add that extra layer by creating a sense of awe and wonder for its young spectators and even for their parents.
Perhaps no genre lends itself better to the use of computer-generated imagery like a kids movie. Imagination often pushes filmmakers to conceive of a world where kids can get totally lost. These films do not necessarily need to be “realistic,” in fact, realism is about the farthest thing from a kid’s mind when watching the incredible world created in a movie like Up or Finding Nemo. The best CGI scenes in kids movies take their audience hundreds of feet up in the air, or hundreds of feet below the sea.
