The Best Charter Schools In the US
According to U.S. News and World Report, these are the absolute best charter schools in the U.S. This list of the top charter schools was compiled by the magazine based on a variety of factors, including those the publication uses to rank all schools in the country. If you're considering a charter school for your children, take a look at these schools as they are some of the best schools in the country period.
Charter schools differ from standard public schools in that they still are considered public, and generally receive government funding like regular public schools, but they meet certain criteria and are released of meeting certain government regulations like public schools. While charter schools are operated on a primary and secondary level, these charter schools listed here are on the high school level only.
For this list, U.S. News and World Report ranked each of the charter schools in the country by two scores: the quality-adjusted exams per test taker and the college readiness of the students. The top two charter schools, Pacific Collegiate School and BASIS Tucson, both scored a perfect 100 on the college readiness. Both also ranked within the top 10 high schools in the country of any kind, sitting at number seven and number nine, respectively.
There are a number of things to think about when selecting a school. While a charter school may not be right, a magnet school or even a baccalaureate school may be a better option.
