An unemployed pot-smoking slacker and amateur drummer, Anthony Stoner (Tommy Chong) ditches his strict parents and hits the road, eventually meeting kindred spirit Pedro de Pacas (Cheech Marin). While the drug-ingesting duo is soon arrested for possession of marijuana, Anthony and Pedro get released on a technicality, allowing them to continue their many misadventures and ultimately compete in a rock band contest, where they perform the raucous tune "Earache My Eye."

Drug-addled, down-and-out musicians Cheech (Cheech Marin) and Chong (Tommy Chong) finally get a lucky break when two wealthy Arabs, Mr. Slyman (also Marin) and Prince Habib (also Chong), hire them to drive a limousine from Chicago to Las Vegas. What the hapless duo doesn't know is that millions are stashed in the seats of the car. Soon the clueless Cheech and Chong are selling off parts of the limo for money and wind up in the desert with their angry foreign employers in hot pursuit.

In this parody adaptation of the Alexandre Dumas novel, a boisterous but unappreciated rock band is kicked out of a quaint French town, only to cross paths with a mystical gypsy, who unfolds the strange tale of two brothers (Cheech Marin, Thomas Chong) from the Corsican family who, although separated at birth, could feel each other's physical pleasures and pains. When the oddly powered pair reunite, their misguided misadventures spark the beginning of the French Revolution.
