This is a list of the best Cincinnati Bengals of all time. Formed by legendary coach Paul Brown, the Cincinnati Bengals have one of the most up-and-down histories in the NFL. The team has seen it&#39;s fair share of great players, but because of bad luck, injuries or head cases, the Bengals haven&#39;t been able to win a Super Bowl championship. Some of the top players in Bengals history have been on their two AFC winning teams. But in the Super Bowl, the Bengals fell short, each time to the San Francisco 49ers. Even when the Bengals have been bad, it hasn&#39;t been for the team&#39;s lack of talent.&nbsp;

The Bengals have been a proverbial sink or swim team. When they&#39;ve been great, their best players helped carry them. In 1988, the Bengals last Super Bowl team, the league&#39;s MVP was quarterback Boomer Esiason. Considered one of the great Bengals, Esasion led the team to several playoff berths during his time in Cincinnati. More recently, Chad &quot;Ocho Cinco&quot; Johnson and Carson Palmer are two of the best Bengals respectively, helped lead the team to the playoffs. If not for an injury to Palmer in the 2005 playoffs, that Bengals team may have gone much farther. One of the greatest players though is offensive tackle Anthony Munoz. He is the only Bengal in the Hall of Fame is considered one of the best left tackles in NFL history.

A. J. Green

Adriel Jeremiah "A.J." Green (born July 31, 1988) is an American football wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Georgia, and was drafted by the Bengals fourth overall in the 2011 NFL Draft.
In his first season with the Bengals, Green made the 2012 Pro Bowl, the first rookie receiver to make a Pro Bowl appearance in eight years; Green has since gone on to appear in 7 total Pro Bowls in his career. From 2011 to 2013, Green caught more passes (260) than any other player in NFL history during their first three seasons, though this record was later broken by Jarvis Landry. He has had 6  seasons with 1000+ receiving yards.

Cris Collinsworth

Anthony Cris Collinsworth (born January 27, 1959) is an American sports broadcaster and former professional American football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for eight seasons, all with the Cincinnati Bengals, during the 1980s. He played college football for the University of Florida, and was recognized as an All-American. He is currently a television sportscaster for NBC, Showtime, and the NFL Network and winner of 15 Sports Emmy Awards. He is also the owner of Pro Football Focus, a sports statistic monitoring service.

T. J. Houshmandzadeh

Touraj Houshmandzadeh Jr. ( HUUSH-mən-ZAH-də; born September 26, 1977) is a former American football wide receiver who was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the seventh round of the 2001 NFL Draft. He previously played college football at Oregon State. Houshmandzadeh played for the Seattle Seahawks in 2009, the Baltimore Ravens in 2010 and the Oakland Raiders in 2011. In 2016, he joined Long Beach Poly High School as a wide receivers coach and was elevated to Varsity Offensive Coordinator in 2018. Houshmandzadeh also works as a football analyst for FS1.

Carl Pickens

Carl McNally Pickens (born March 23, 1970) is a former American football wide receiver who played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Cincinnati Bengals and Tennessee Titans.

Isaac Curtis

Isaac Fisher Curtis (born October 20, 1950) is a former professional American football wide receiver who played his entire National Football League career with the Cincinnati Bengals (1973–1984).

Marvin Jones

Marvin Lewis Jones Jr. (born March 12, 1990) is an American football wide receiver for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fifth round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He played college football at California. Jones attended Etiwanda High School, in Rancho Cucamonga, California, from 2004 to 2008. As a senior, he had 81 receptions for 1,040 yards and 10 touchdowns, leading the Eagles to a share of the Baseline League championship. He is Etiwanda's all-time leading receiver and was a Super Prep magazine All-American.

Eddie Brown

Eddie Lee Brown (born December 18, 1962) is a former American football wide receiver who played in the National Football League for the Cincinnati Bengals from 1985-1991. He played football collegiately at the University of Miami.

Mohamed Sanu

Mohamed Sanu Sr. (born August 22, 1989) is an American football wide receiver for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft and played college football at Rutgers.

Terrell Owens

Terrell Eldorado Owens (; born December 7, 1973), popularly known by his initials, T.O., is a former American football wide receiver who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 16 seasons. A six-time Pro Bowl selection and five-time first-team All-Pro, Owens holds or shares several NFL records. He ranks third in career receiving yards at 15,934 and third in receiving touchdowns at 153.
After playing college football and basketball at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Owens was selected in the third round of the 1996 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. Owens was a member of the team for seven seasons until he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2004 following conflict with the 49ers front office. Two years later, he signed with the Dallas Cowboys before being released following three seasons with the team. Owens' NFL career subsequently concluded after one season each with the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals. He last played professionally for the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League in 2012.
While regarded as one of the best players of his era, Owens created a significant amount of controversy during his professional career and also attracted attention for his flamboyant touchdown celebrations. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.

Darnay Scott

Darnay Scott (born July 7, 1972) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League for the Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at San Diego State University.

Tim McGee

Timothy Dwayne Hatchett McGee (born August 7, 1964) is a retired professional American football wide receiver who played in the National Football League for the Cincinnati Bengals and the Washington Redskins from 1986 to 1994. Before his NFL career, he played college football at the University of Tennessee, where he set school career records for receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown receptions, and was named an All American his senior year.

Speedy Thomas

Louis "Speedy" Timothy Thomas III (April 13, 1947 – July 29, 2003) was a professional American football wide receiver in the American Football League and the National Football League. He played for the AFL's Cincinnati Bengals (1969) and the NFL's Bengals (1970–1972) and New Orleans Saints (1973–1974).
Thomas played football at Booker T. Washington High School in Houston, Texas.
He played college football at the University of Utah. During his senior season (1968), he was named first-team All-Western Athletic Conference (WAC), and he was selected to play in the annual all-star East-West Shrine Game.He was drafted in the third round (57th overall) of the 1969 NFL Draft by the second-year Cincinnati Bengals.In 1969, Thomas had a big rookie year as a flanker for the AFL's Bengals. Playing all 14 games, he had 33 receptions for 481 yards (a 14.6 average) and three touchdowns. He set a new Bengals record for receptions in a game with seven (for 177 yards) against the Denver Broncos. For the season, he also had four carries for 16 yards and a touchdown, and he returned four punts for 15 yards.His first professional touchdown was in week 2, when he caught a nine-yard touchdown pass from Greg Cook in a 24-30 win over the San Diego Chargers.
In 1970, with the Bengals now in the NFL due to the NFL/AFL merger, he again played 14 games, including 13 as a starter at wide receiver. He had 21 receptions for 257 yards (a 12.2 average) and two touchdowns, along with two carries for seven yards and four punt returns for 20 yards.
In 1971, he played 12 games, starting eight as wide receiver. He had 22 receptions for 327 yards (a 14.9 average). He also had his longest career reception and the longest in the NFL in 1971—a 90-yard touchdown pass from Virgil Carter in the season-opening game, a 37-14 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. He also returned four punts for 20 yards and had two carries for -1 yards.In 1972, he played in 11 games, starting 10. He had 17 receptions for 171 yards (a 10.1 average) and one touchdown.
After four years with the Bengals, on July 9, 1973, he was traded to the New Orleans Saints for rookie defensive tackle Jerry Ellison.In 1973 for the Saints, he played in six games with no statistics. In 1974, his sixth and last in pro football, he played in one game, with one reception for three yards.

Peter Warrick

Peter L. Warrick (born June 19, 1977) is an American former college and professional football player who was a wide receiver in National Football League (NFL) for six seasons. He played college football at Florida State University, and was recognized a consensus All-American twice. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals fourth overall in the 2000 NFL Draft, and also played professionally for the Bengals and Seattle Seahawks of the NFL, and the Bloomington Extreme of the Indoor Football League (IFL).

Charlie Joiner

Charles B. Joiner Jr. (born October 14, 1947) is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver in the American Football League (AFL) and National Football League (NFL) for 18 seasons. He is best known for his career with the San Diego Chargers, with whom he spent 11 seasons. Before joining the Chargers, he played for the Houston Oilers and Cincinnati Bengals each for four seasons. He retired with the most career receptions, receiving yards, and games played of any wide receiver in NFL history. Joiner was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1996.

Brandon LaFell

Brandon Josiah LaFell (born November 4, 1986) is an American football wide receiver who is currently a free agent. He was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft, and has also played for the New England Patriots where he was a member of the Super Bowl XLIX winning team. He played college football at LSU.

Chip Myers

Phillip Leon "Chip" Myers (July 9, 1945 in Panama City, Florida – February 23, 1999) was a National Football league wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals and San Francisco 49ers.

Billy Brooks

William McKinley Brooks III (born July 22, 1953) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals 11th overall in the 1976 NFL Draft. He played college football at Oklahoma.  Brooks also played for the San Diego Chargers and Houston Oilers.

Jeff Query

Jeff Lee Query (born March 7, 1967) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League for the Green Bay Packers, Cincinnati Bengals, and Washington Redskins.  Query played college football at Millikin University. The Green Bay Packers selected Query in the fifth round of the 1989 NFL Draft.  Query also returned punts while playing for the Packers, and was awarded the title of the NFL's Fastest Man in both 1989 and 1990 seasons. Query was the first NFL player to be drafted out of Millikin.

Jerome Simpson

Jerome Louis Simpson (born February 4, 1986) is a former American football wide receiver. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He has also played for the Minnesota Vikings and San Francisco 49ers. Simpson played college football at Coastal Carolina University.

Eric Crabtree

Eric Leslie Crabtree (born November 3, 1944) is a former American football wide receiver in the American Football League and the National Football League. He played six seasons for the Denver Broncos (1966–1968), the Cincinnati Bengals (1969–1971), and the New England Patriots (1971).

Laveranues Coles

Laveranues Leon Coles (; born December 29, 1977) is a former American football wide receiver who played 11 seasons in the National Football League (NFL).  He played college football for Florida State University.  He was drafted by the New York Jets in the third round of the 2000 NFL Draft.  A Pro Bowl selection in 2003, Coles also played for the Washington Redskins and Cincinnati Bengals.

Don Bass

Donald Wayne Bass (March 11, 1956 – October 26, 1989) was a professional American football tight end in the National Football League. He played five seasons for the Cincinnati Bengals (1978–1981) and the New Orleans Saints (1982). He played college football at the University of Houston. He has two living children.  In his four seasons at Houston, Bass caught 105 passes for 1,821 yards and 16 touchdowns.  Bass was drafted by the Bengals in the third round of the 1978 NFL draft.  
Bass went on to catch 117 passes for 1,580 yards and 13 touchdowns over his first three seasons.  He did not have any regular season receptions in his last two years, though he did catch a touchdown pass in the Bengals 1981 win over the San Diego Chargers in the AFC championship game.
In October 1989, Bass was shot and killed by Darrell Billingslea, after Bass allegedly told police to search Billingslea's motel room for drugs.  Billingslea was convicted of killing Bass in 1990 while serving a 25-year prison sentence for another murder.  He was paroled in 2007 and was convicted of a third murder in 2009, resulting in a 50-year prison sentence on top of the 11 years left for the original killings.

Craig Yeast

Craig Nelson Yeast (born November 20, 1976 in Danville, Kentucky) is a former Canadian Football League wide receiver and kick returner for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Previously, he played in the National Football League from 1999 through 2001. He resigned as the head football coach at Fremont Ross HS, and was named the head coach at Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, KY in December of 2018.

Armon Binns

Armon Binns (born September 8, 1989) is an American football wide receiver who is currently a free agent. He played college football at Cincinnati.
