Phil Dawson

Philip Drury "Phil" Dawson (born January 23, 1975) is a former American football placekicker. He played for the Cleveland Browns from 1999 to 2012 and holds their franchise record for most field goals made, passing Hall of Famer Lou Groza in 2010. He played college football at Texas. He also played for the San Francisco 49ers from 2013-2016, and the Arizona Cardinals in 2017 and 2018. He signed a contract in 2019 to retire as a member of the team that he started with, the Cleveland Browns.

Lou Groza

Louis Roy Groza (January 25, 1924 – November 29, 2000), nicknamed "The Toe", was an American football placekicker and offensive tackle who played his entire career for the Cleveland Browns in the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) and National Football League (NFL). Groza was professional football's career kicking and points leader when he retired after the 1967 season. He played in 21 seasons for the Browns, helping the team to win eight league championships in that span. Groza's accuracy and strength as a kicker influenced the development of place-kicking as a specialty; he could kick field goals from beyond 50 yards (46 m) at a time when attempts from that distance were a rarity. He set numerous records for distance and number of field goals kicked during his career.
Groza grew up in an athletic family in Martins Ferry, Ohio. He enrolled at Ohio State University on a scholarship in 1942, but after just one year in college, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was sent to serve in World War II. Groza deployed as an army surgical technician in the Pacific theater, where he stayed until returning in 1946 to play for the Browns. Helped by Groza's kicking and play at offensive tackle, the Browns won the AAFC championship every year between 1946 and 1949, when the league disbanded and the Browns were absorbed by the more established NFL. Cleveland won the NFL championship in its first year in the league on a last-minute field goal by Groza. Groza set NFL records for field goals made in 1950, 1952 and 1953. Sporting News named him the league's Most Valuable Player in 1954, when the Browns won another championship. The team repeated as NFL champions in 1955.
Groza retired briefly after the 1959 season due to a back injury, but returned in 1961. He was part of a 1964 team that won another NFL championship. Groza retired for good after the 1967 season. Later in life, he ran an insurance business and served as a team ambassador for the Browns. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1974. In 1992, the Palm Beach County Sports Commission named the Lou Groza Award after him. The award is given annually to the country's best college placekicker. Groza died in 2000 of a heart attack.

Don Cockroft

Donald Lee Cockroft (born February 6, 1945) is a former American football punter and placekicker who played thirteen seasons in the National Football League with the Cleveland Browns. He has the third most career points for a Brown behind fellow kickers Phil Dawson (second) and Lou Groza.
Cockroft served as the Browns' primary punter and placekicker for the first nine seasons of his career. In 1977, he dropped punting from his duties and became solely a placekicker.  He and Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker/punter Dave Green were two of the last NFL players to lead their teams in both punting and kicking in the same season (1976).
He was involved in the January 4, 1981, American Football Conference divisional play-off game versus the Oakland Raiders. Cockroft missed field goals from 47 and 30-yards in the second quarter. The Browns scored a touchdown on a 42-yard interception by Ron Bolton with 6:02 left in the second quarter, but the extra point attempt by Cockroft was blocked. Cleveland would lose the game 14-12, a game which is nicknamed, Red Right 88.
Later NFL players to have this dual distinction were Steve Little of the St. Louis Cardinals in 1979, Russell Erxleben of the New Orleans Saints briefly in 1979 and 1980, and Frank Corral for the Los Angeles Rams in 1980 and 1981.

Matt Bahr

Matthew David Bahr (born July 6, 1956) is a former professional American football placekicker in the National Football League, and professional soccer player in the North American Soccer League. He attended Neshaminy High School in Langhorne, Pennsylvania where he excelled in both football and soccer.  He is the son of National Soccer Hall of Fame inductee Walter Bahr, and is the brother of NFL kicker Chris Bahr.

Matt Stover

John Matthew "Matt" Stover (born January 27, 1968) is a former American Football placekicker. As of the start of the 2009 NFL season, he was the third most accurate kicker in the history of the National Football League. He has played for the New York Giants, Indianapolis Colts, Cleveland Browns, and Baltimore Ravens, with whom he played for 13 seasons.



Mark Moseley

Mark DeWayne Moseley (born March 12, 1948) is a former professional American football placekicker in the National Football League (NFL) who played for the Philadelphia Eagles (1970), the Houston Oilers (1971–72), the Washington Redskins (1974–86), and the Cleveland Browns (1986). He won the Most Valuable Player Award during the strike-shortened 1982 season.  He is one of the only special teams players to win the NFL MVP award.

William Ambrose Cundiff (born March 30, 1980) is a former American football placekicker. He played college football for Drake University, and was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2002.

Jeff Todd Jaeger (born November 26, 1964) is a former American college and professional football player who was a placekicker in the National Football League (NFL) for twelve seasons during the 1980s and 1990s.  Jaeger played college football for the University of Washington, and received All-American honors.  In the NFL, he played for the Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders and Chicago Bears.

Greg Joseph is an American football placekicker for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Florida Atlantic University. Joseph spent five years at Florida Atlantic after redshirting his freshman year. During his senior year in 2017, he became the Owls' all-time leader in field goals.

Sam Baker

Loris Hoskins Baker (November 12, 1930 – June 5, 2007), was an American football player in the National Football League for the Washington Redskins, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. While he played several positions, he was best known for being a punter and kicker. He played college football at Oregon State University.

Garrett Hartley

Garrett Hartley (born May 16, 1986) is a former American football placekicker. He was signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2008. Later that year he became the placekicker for the New Orleans Saints, for whom he set an NFL record (now surpassed) for most consecutive successful field goals to start a career, and then became the first kicker in NFL history to convert three field goals of more than 40 yards in the Super Bowl. He played college football at Oklahoma.
Hartley has also played for the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Paul T. Ernster (born January 26, 1982 in Phoenix, Arizona) is a former American football punter. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the seventh round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He played college football in Northern Arizona.
Ernster has also been a member of the Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Brett Alan Conway (born March 8, 1975 in Atlanta) is a former professional American football player.  He was a placekicker for seven seasons with various teams in the National Football League.  He was drafted in the third round (#90 overall) by the Green Bay Packers in the 1997 NFL Draft.  Conway played college football at Penn State, where his 276 career points rank him second all-time, and his 119 consecutive extra points are a school record.
He kicked in four bowl games: Citrus, Rose, Outback, and Fiesta.

Jerry Kauric

Jerry Kauric (born June 28, 1963 in Windsor, Ontario) is a former placekicker who played in the National Football League and Canadian Football League in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Kauric played his early days in the Canadian Junior Football League for the Windsor AKO Fratmen. He then played for the Edmonton Eskimos, where he kicked the game-winning field goal for the 1987 Grey Cup during his first season as an Eskimo. He then played professionally in the NFL for the Cleveland Browns in 1990. Afterwards, he played for the Calgary Stampeders, and then he signed with the Detroit Lions, where he was kept for training camp. He was later cut by the Lions after breaking his foot.
