Fame is a 2009 American musical drama film and a loose remake of the 1980 film of the same title. It was directed by Kevin Tancharoen and written by Allison Burnett. It was released on September 25, 2009 in the USA, Canada, Ireland, and the UK. The film follows NYC talents attending the New York City High School of Performing Arts, where students get specialized training that often leads to success as actors, singers, etc. Only one actor from the 1980 film returned to this remake: Debbie Allen played the school principal, Angela Simms.
