A list of the best Oregon Ducks of all time. Beginning in 1894, the University of Oregon began its illustrious football program. Though Oregon fans didn't always have a lot to cheer for through much of the 20th century, the 2000s ushered in a new era, and the Ducks have become a dominant force in the Pac-12 and nationwide. Oregon has not yet won a national title, but they have taken home 11 conference titles and have 12 post-season bowl game wins. Oregon has produced many truly talented quarterbacks, from NFL legend Dan Fouts, to Joey Harrington, Dennis Dixon, and Akili Smith. Many talented Oregon stars at other positions have gone on to illustrious NFL careers as well, with six former Ducks being inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame, including&nbsp;Gary Zimmerman, Dave Wilcox, Norm Van Brocklin, Dan Fouts, and Mel Renfro.&nbsp;Other famous players who are considered some of the greatest Ducks ever are the ruthless defender Haloti Ngata and running back Jonathan Stewart. Former head coach Mike Bellotti helped bring Oregon Duck football to the national stage, and Chip Kelly, now with the Philadelphia Eagles, grew it into the dominant force it is today. The school is regularly ranked in the top ten, and few opponents enjoy coming into Autzen Stadium and facing the Oregon fans. While many people focus on the Ducks's crazy uniforms, it's the great players who are really remembered. Who can forget powerhouse LaMichael James, who ended his Oregon career as the most decorated Duck ever, holding almost every singe Oregon rushing and scoring record including most points scored in a season &amp; career (144, 348), most touchdowns in a season &amp; career (24, 58), most rushing attempts in a season (294), season and career rushing yards (1,805, 5,082), and most 200-yard rushing games, also for both season (4) and career (7). Paul Richardson Jr. is an American football wide receiver for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Colorado, and was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. 
Richardson originally attended UCLA, but was dismissed from the team prior to his freshman season after being placed under arrest for felony theft of a purse, along with his cousin Shaquille Richardson and another teammate, Josh Shirley. He then attended the University of Colorado Boulder. He played in all 12 games that year, recording 34 receptions for 514 yards and six touchdowns. As a sophomore in 2011, he played in nine games recording 39 receptions for 555 yards and five touchdowns.

He was drafted in the first round of the 1995 NFL Draft, and played professionally for the Washington Redskins and Cincinnati Bengals of the NFL.  After retiring from football, he later competed as a mixed martial arts fighter in the heavyweight division.

Michael Robert Pritchard (b. October 26, 1969) is a former American football player who played collegiately at the University of Colorado and professionally for various teams over a nine-year career.
Pritchard grew up in Las Vegas and starred as an all-purpose back.  His athletic talent attracted attention from collegiate football programs from across the nation.  Pritchard eventually accepted an athletic scholarship offer from head coach Bill McCartney of the University of Colorado.  He was part of the legendary 1987 recruiting class at Colorado that included Eric Bieniemy, George Hemingway, Alfred Williams, and Kanavis McGhee, all of whom were key players on the 1990 National Championship team.
At Colorado, Pritchard was a versatile player who excelled at a variety of positions, including wide receiver, kick returner, and running back.  He started the 1990 season opener at running back, carrying the ball 20 times for 217 yards and two touchdowns.  It was his only career start at that position.  Pritchard averaged 26.4 yards per pass reception for his career, a mark that remains a school record.  His 17.9 average per touch on offense also remains the best in school history.  
Pritchard earned a number of honors while at CU.  As a senior in 1990, he was named first-team All-Big Eight at wide receiver, also garnering honorable mention All-American honors from the UPI.  That same year he was named the most valuable player on CU's national championship team, the only one in school history.  Pritchard was later inducted into the University of Colorado sports Hall of Fame in 2015.
Pritchard  was the first of nine Colorado players selected in the 1991 NFL Draft.  He was selected 13th overall by the Atlanta Falcons.  He played nine seasons in the NFL, spending time with Atlanta (1991-93), Denver (1994-95) and Seattle (1996-99).  Pritchard had his best professional season in 1992 while he was with the Falcons.  That year he caught 77 receptions for 827 yards and scored 5 touchdowns.  In 127 career NFL games, he caught 422 passes for 5,178 yards (12.3 yard average) and scored 26 touchdowns.  
After his playing career, he moved back to his hometown of Las Vegas where he embarked on a broadcasting career doing color commentary on the UNLV radio network.  He has also appeared on TV and radio as a commentator and in both the Las Vegas and Denver areas.

Rae Theotis Carruth (born Rae Lamar Wiggins; January 20, 1974) is an American convicted felon  and former football wide receiver. After playing college football at Colorado, Carruth was drafted in the first round of the 1997 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL) and spent three seasons with the team.
In 2001, he was found guilty of conspiring to murder his then-girlfriend Cherica Adams, who was pregnant with his child. Including pre-trial confinement, he served 18 years of an 18–24 year prison sentence at the Sampson Correctional Institution in Clinton, North Carolina, and was released on October 22, 2018.

He played college football for the University of Colorado, and was recognized as a consensus All-American.  He was drafted by the New England Patriots in the first round of the 2002 NFL Draft, and also played professionally for the Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans and New Orleans Saints.

Darrin Earl Chiaverini (born October 12, 1977) is an American football assistant coach and former wide receiver. He played college football at Colorado. He was drafted in the fifth round (148th overall) of the 1999 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns.
During his career, he also played for the Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL). He was formerly the special teams coordinator and outside wide receivers coach for Texas Tech prior to joining the Colorado coaching staff.

Emery Moorehead

Emery Matthew Moorehead (born March 22, 1954) is a former American football tight end/wide receiver in the National Football League for the New York Giants, Denver Broncos, and the Chicago Bears.  He won a Super Bowl ring as the starting tight end and a member of the 1985 Chicago Bears.  Moorehead played college football at the University of Colorado at Boulder where he captained the 1976 Big 8 champion Buffalos and was drafted in the sixth round of the 1977 NFL Draft.
Moorehead is the father of ex-Indianapolis Colts receiver Aaron Moorehead, and the cousin of former NBA basketball player Brad Daugherty. Emery and his son Aaron are the NFL's first father and son team to which both have played in and both have won Super Bowls.
Moorehead played a total of 12 seasons in the NFL and retired with 224 receptions for 2,980 yards and 15 touchdowns.  He also returned 31 kickoffs for 617 yards and rushed for 114 yards. Moorehead was inducted into the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame in 1999 and later became a director of the Hall.  He has served on the Board of Directors of Northeast Illinois Council of Boy Scouts since 1989. Moorehead earned the rank of Eagle Scout (1969) was awarded the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award in 2012.Moorehead has been a real estate agent since 1986 with Koenig & Strey Real Living Home Services of America in Northbrook, Illinois, and is Past Chairman of the North Shore - Barrington Association of realtors.

J. V. Cain

James Victor Cain (July 22, 1951 – July 22, 1979) was a tight end in the NFL for the St. Louis Cardinals. Cain played high school football at Booker T. Washington in Houston Texas, before playing college football at Colorado. He was the 7th overall selection in the 1974 NFL Draft. Two years later, he emerged as the full-time starting tight end for the Cardinals.
He died of congenital heart failure, brought out by working out in extreme heat during training camp at Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Missouri on his birthday in 1979.
His number 88 is retired by the Cardinals.
