List RulesOnly active NHL coaches

Every hockey coach currently in the NHL begins the season with hopes of leading his team to the Stanley Cup. The Stanley Cup is probably the most famous trophy in all of sports, and all NHL coaches spend the whole season in pursuit of that single goal.

Coaches like Joel Quenneville, who has three Stanley Cup wins, and Barry Trotz, who won his first in 2018, have been around for years and have reached the mountaintop. Meanwhile, coaches like Todd McLellan and Peter DeBoer are still seeking hockey's ultimate prize. The Ottawa Senators' D.J. Smith is right at the beginning of his career, along with other new coaches like Todd Reirden and Bill Peters.

While fans can often wonder "What have you done for me lately?" with their teams' coaches, many of these coaches have had lengthy careers and won many games and titles for multiple squads. So which of these coaches has withstood the test of time and made his mark as one of the best coaches in the NHL right now?
