Ranking Every Degrassi: Next Generation Character

Vote up the characters who are like Manny Santos: a star.

With 385 episodes spanning 14 seasons, Degrassi: The Next Generation outlived most teen television fare, and introduced Degrassi characters that entertained kids everywhere after real school finished. Did anyone think this reboot of an '80s teen soap opera would endure for so long? It’s simultaneously endearing, ground-breaking, and lovingly mocked. At times it's laughably earnest and at others surprisingly cutting, like that time Ashley lobbed off all her hair. With so many episodes, one-off feature length specials, and numerous "generations," there comes a hell of a lot of Degrassi: Next Gen characters.

But who stands as the best Degrassi: The Next Generation character? Perhaps it's Jimmy, the wheelchair-bound future rap superstar everyone's come to know and love and meme as Drake. On the other hand, maybe Holly J, sister of the mysterious, unseen Heather Sinclair, holds this title. If you prefer the OG characters, you may pick Paige, one of Degrassi High's original mean girls and full-time "hun." All of your favorite Degrassi characters lie below, eager for you to rank their social status. After all, isn't that what fictional high school is all about? Don't forget to also check out our list of shows like Degrassi for something new to watch!
