Dan Issel

Daniel Paul Issel (born October 25, 1948) is an American retired Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame professional basketball player and coach. An outstanding collegian at the University of Kentucky, he was twice named an All-American en route to a still school record 25.7 points per game. The American Basketball Association Rookie of the Year in 1971, he was a six-time ABA All-Star and one-time NBA All-Star. 
A prolific scorer, Issel remains the all-time leading scorer at the University of Kentucky and second all-time for the NBA's Denver Nuggets and the American Basketball Association itself. Upon his retirement from the NBA in 1985, only Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Julius Erving had scored more professional points.

Nenê (Portuguese pronunciation: [neˈne]; born Maybyner Rodney Hilário; September 13, 1982) is a Brazilian professional basketball player who last played for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Known previously as Nenê Hilario, he legally changed his name to simply Nenê in 2003.

Paul Millsap

Paul Millsap (born February 10, 1985) is an American professional basketball player for the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). A power forward from Louisiana Tech University, Millsap was selected by the Utah Jazz in the second round (47th overall) of the 2006 NBA draft and was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team. He played in Utah until 2013, when he became a member of the Hawks. He is a four-time NBA All-Star.

Antonio Keithflen McDyess (born September 7, 1974) is an American former professional basketball player. Listed at  6'9" (2.06 m) and 245 lb (111 kg), McDyess played as a power forward.

Kenyon Martin

Kenyon Lee Martin (born December 30, 1977) is an American retired professional basketball player who played 15 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played for the New Jersey Nets, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA, and the Xinjiang Flying Tigers of China. The 6'9" power forward played college basketball for Cincinnati before being drafted with the first overall pick in the 2000 NBA draft by the New Jersey Nets.

LaPhonso Darnell Ellis (born May 5, 1970) is an American retired basketball player. He was selected by the National Basketball Association's Denver Nuggets as the fifth overall pick in the 1992 NBA draft.

Kiki Vandeweghe

Ernest Maurice "Kiki" VanDeWeghe III (born August 1, 1958) is an American basketball executive. He serves as the Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations of the National Basketball Association (NBA). VanDeWeghe is a retired professional basketball player and was formerly the general manager of the Denver Nuggets and the New Jersey Nets, and a head coach of the Nets.
VanDeWeghe was born in Wiesbaden, West Germany, the son of former NBA player Ernie Vandeweghe and Colleen Kay Hutchins, the winner of the 1952 Miss America pageant. He is also the nephew of another NBA player, four-time All-Star Mel Hutchins. He has a niece, Coco Vandeweghe, who is a professional tennis player. VanDeWeghe and his wife Peggy have one son, Ernest Maurice VanDeWeghe IV, born in 2002.
As a player, VanDeWeghe was regarded as an excellent scorer and outside shooter, averaging 20 points for seven consecutive seasons. He was particularly known for his use of the stepback, a move he was so proficient at that it was often referred to as the "Kiki Move" toward the end of his career. VanDeWeghe's teams qualified for the NBA playoffs in 12 of his 13 seasons in the league, although none of his teams ever won the NBA championship.
For the bulk of his career, VanDeWeghe spelled his surname "Vandeweghe" (with only the V capitalized), a spelling used by his parents before their deaths, and still used by his niece who has a prominent tennis career. In 2013, he announced he was changing the spelling of his name to "VanDeWeghe", in honor of his recently departed paternal grandfather and namesake.

Wilson Chandler

Wilson Chandler (born May 10, 1987) is an American professional basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He has previously played for Zhejiang Guangsha of the Chinese Basketball Association during the 2011 NBA lockout and the NBA's New York Knicks and Denver Nuggets. He played college basketball at DePaul University for two years before declaring for the 2007 NBA draft, where he was a first-round selection of the Knicks. Chandler is listed at 6 ft 8 in. and 225 lbs. He can play both forward positions. Chandler has great leaping ability, finishes well at the basket, and an improving mid-range jumper.

Kenneth Bernard Faried Lewis (born November 19, 1989) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played center at Morehead State University, where he was named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year twice and an All-American in 2011.

George McGinnis

George F. McGinnis (born August 12, 1950) is an American retired professional basketball player who played 11 seasons in the American Basketball Association (ABA) and National Basketball Association (NBA). He was drafted into the ABA from Indiana University in 1971.

Danilo Gallinari

Danilo Gallinari (Italian pronunciation: [daˈniːlo ɡalliˈnaːri]; born August 8, 1988) is an Italian professional basketball player for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). After spending his first four years as a professional in his native Italy, Gallinari was drafted sixth overall in the 2008 NBA draft by the New York Knicks. He played with the Knicks for two and a half seasons before being traded to the Denver Nuggets in 2011. In 2017, he was acquired by the Clippers. His nickname is Gallo, which is Italian for "rooster".

Eduardo Nájera

Eduardo Alonso Nájera Pérez (Spanish pronunciation: [eˈðwaɾðo ˈnaxeɾa]) (born July 11, 1976) is a Mexican retired professional basketball player and currently a scout with the Dallas Mavericks. He is also a pregame and postgame analyst on Mavericks Live on Fox Sports Southwest, where he is identified as Eddie. Before being promoted to a scout with the Mavs, he was head coach of the Texas Legends of the NBA D-League.

Dave Robisch

David George Robisch (born December 22, 1949) is a retired American professional basketball player in the ABA and NBA.  Robisch played at the University of Kansas, where he was initiated into the Sigma Nu fraternity.  He was positioned at center and forward for the Denver Rockets/Denver Nuggets (1971–75 and 1980–83), Indiana Pacers (1975–76 and 1976–77), San Diego Sails (1976), Los Angeles Lakers (1977–79), Cleveland Cavaliers (1979–80), San Antonio Spurs (1983) and Kansas City Kings (1984).
He helped the Nuggets win the 1974–75 ABA Western Division.
On October 8, 1975 Robisch was part of one of the more infamous trades in ABA history.  The Baltimore Claws, despite financial problems, had obtained the rights to star Dan Issel from the Kentucky Colonels.  The Claws were unable to come through with the $500,000 they owed the Colonels for Issel.  Under pressure from the league, the Claws traded Issel to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Robisch and $500,000 (which was used to pay the Kentucky Colonels the money owed for Issel).

Jay Vincent

Jay Fletcher Vincent (born June 10, 1959) is a retired American professional basketball player.
A 6'7" forward, Vincent played at Michigan State University under coach, Jud Heathcote, where he teamed with Magic Johnson and Greg Kelser to win the 1979 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament. Vincent won the Big Ten scoring championship in his junior and senior years. He was then selected by the Dallas Mavericks in the second round of the 1981 NBA draft (24th overall pick), and he went on to have a productive 9-year NBA career, playing for the Mavericks (1981–86), Washington Bullets (1986–87), Denver Nuggets (1987–89), San Antonio Spurs (1989), Philadelphia 76ers (1989–1990) and Los Angeles Lakers (1990).  He concluded his NBA career in 1990 with 8,729 career points, 3,167 career rebounds, and 1,124 career assists.
Vincent is the older brother of seven-year NBA player and former NBA coach Sam Vincent.
In August 2010 it was revealed that an East Lansing, Michigan, company owned by Vincent was involved in a scam that defrauded about 20,000 people across the United States out of more than $2 million. On August 18, 2010, Vincent and another man were indicted by a federal grand jury on mail fraud charges stemming from conduct between 2006 and 2009. Vincent later pleaded guilty. In July 2011 he voluntarily revoked his bond and was jailed ahead of his September 2011 sentencing. He was sentenced to five and a half years in prison on September 2, 2011.
Upon being released in March 2016, he worked as a manager at a Battle Creek, Michigan, based restaurant called Juicy Burger until his release from parole in July 2016.

Byron Beck

A. Byron Beck (born January 25, 1945) is an American former professional basketball player.
A 6'9" forward/center from the University of Denver, Beck was one of six players (along with Louie Dampier, Gerald Govan, Bob Netolicky, Stew Johnson, and Freddie Lewis) who participated in all nine seasons (1967–1976) of the original American Basketball Association. He played for the Denver Rockets, who later became the Denver Nuggets.  Beck was not blessed with superior athleticism, but he was a hard worker known for his tenacious rebounding and efficient hook shot, and he represented Denver in two ABA All-Star Games (1969 and 1976).
Beck also played one season in the National Basketball Association after the Nuggets joined the NBA through the ABA–NBA merger in 1976, and he retired in 1977 with 8,603 career ABA/NBA points and 5,261 career rebounds.  On December 16, 1977, he became the first player in the Denver franchise to have his jersey number (#40) retired.

Calvin Natt

Calvin Leon Natt (born January 8, 1957) is a retired American professional basketball player.  A 6'6" (1.98 m) forward, Natt played at Northeast Louisiana University under coach Lenny Fant. After college, he played 11 NBA seasons (1979–1990), spending time with the New Jersey Nets, Portland Trail Blazers, Denver Nuggets, San Antonio Spurs, and Indiana Pacers.  He represented the Nuggets in the 1985 NBA All-Star Game, and retired with 10,291 career points. He is the older brother of former NBA player Kenny Natt.  Natt's nickname was "Pit Bull".Calvin Natt later became an ordained minister. He owns a funeral home in Denver, Colorado.

Tom Hammonds

For American sportscaster, see Tom Hammond.Tom Edward Hammonds (born March 27, 1967) is a retired American professional basketball player and National Hot Rod Association drag racer. He was born in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and attended Crestview High School in Crestview, Florida.
Hammonds played college basketball at Georgia Institute of Technology, earning Rookie of the Year honors in the Atlantic Coast Conference in 1986. After graduating in 1989, he was selected by the Washington Bullets in the first round (ninth overall) in the 1989 NBA Draft. He played 12 NBA seasons for the Bullets, Denver Nuggets, Charlotte Hornets and Minnesota Timberwolves, averaging 5.3 points per game in his career. He scored a career-high 31 points for the Bullets against the New York Knicks, on January 29, 1992.
While enrolled at Georgia Tech, Hammonds played for the US national team in the 1986 FIBA World Championship, winning the gold medal.While playing for the Nuggets, Hammonds became involved in drag racing. He qualified in the 1996 Mopar Parts Mile High Nationals, only to lose to Kurt Johnson. He owns his own NHRA team, racing in the NHRA's Pro Stock class since 1996.
Hammonds also opened a car dealership in Darlington, South Carolina.Hammonds is also owner of an indoor shooting range in Valparaiso, Florida named Emerald Coast Indoor Shooting & Sport. Hammonds is an avid outdoorsman and is very active with fishing and shooting.

Juwan Howard

Juwan Antonio Howard (born February 7, 1973) is the head basketball coach at the University of Michigan. He was an assistant coach for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 2013 to 2019. Howard played in the NBA from 1994 until 2013.
A one-time All-Star and one-time All-NBA power forward, he began his NBA career as the fifth overall pick in the 1994 NBA draft, selected by the Washington Bullets. Before he was drafted, he starred as an All-American on the Michigan Wolverines men's basketball team. At Michigan he was part of the Fab Five recruiting class of 1991 that reached the finals of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship in 1992 and 1993. Howard won his first NBA championship with Miami in the 2012 NBA Finals and his second NBA championship in the 2013 NBA Finals.
Howard was an All-American center and an honors student at Chicago Vocational Career Academy. Michigan was able to sign him early over numerous competing offers and then convince others in his recruiting class to join him. The Fab Five, which included Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Jimmy King and Ray Jackson, served as regular starters during their freshman and sophomore years for the 1991–92 and 1992–93 Wolverines. Howard was the last member of the Fab Five to remain active as a professional basketball player. Although many of the Wolverines' accomplishments from 1992 to 1998 were forfeited due to the University of Michigan basketball scandal, which involved booster payments to players to launder money from illegal gambling, Howard's 1993–94 All-American season continues to be recognized.
Howard played six-and-a-half seasons (1994–2001) for the Bullets franchise (renamed the Wizards in 1997), three full seasons (2004–07) for the Houston Rockets, two plus seasons for the Heat and shorter stints for several other teams. During his rookie year with the Bullets, he became the first player to graduate on time with his class after leaving college early to play in the NBA. After one season as an All-Rookie player and a second as an All-Star and an All-NBA performer, he became the first NBA player to sign a $100 million contract. While he continued to be a productive starter, he was never again selected to play in an All-Star Game. Towards the end of his contract, he was traded at the NBA trade deadline twice to make salary cap room. He was most recently a regular starter during the 2005–06 NBA season. In 2010, he signed with the Heat and entered his 17th NBA season, during which he reached the playoffs for the sixth time and made his first career NBA Finals appearance. He remained with the Heat the following season and won his first NBA championship during the 2012 NBA Finals. He returned to the Heat for part of the following season, and won a second championship. Howard has developed a reputation as a humanitarian for his civic commitment.

Wayne Hightower

Wayne A. Hightower (January 14, 1940 – April 18, 2002) was an American professional basketball player who had a long and productive career in the NBA and ABA, during the 1960s and early 1970s. He was a 6'8" power forward and center. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Chris Gatling

Chris Raymond Gatling (born September 3, 1967) is a retired American professional basketball player born in Elizabeth, New Jersey.  Gatling played for many National Basketball Association (NBA) teams from 1991 to 2002. He played for the US national team in the 1990 FIBA World Championship, winning the bronze medal.



Al Harrington

Albert Harrington (born February 17, 1980) is an American former professional basketball player. Selected with the 25th overall pick in the 1998 NBA draft, Harrington played 16 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Indiana Pacers, Atlanta Hawks, Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks, Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic and Washington Wizards. He also spent a short stint with the Fujian Sturgeons of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).
Since retiring from the NBA, Harrington has become an entrepreneur in the cannabis industry.  Harrington is a cousin of NBA player Dahntay Jones.
