Ziltoid the Omniscient

Ziltoid the Omniscient is the tenth studio album by Canadian metal musician Devin Townsend, released on his own label HevyDevy Records in May 2007, and distributed in America and Europe by InsideOut Music.
The album is a concept album about a fictional extraterrestrial being named Ziltoid from the planet Ziltoidia 9. Ziltoid travels to Earth in search of "your universe's ultimate cup of coffee". A cup of coffee is delivered to him and he is promptly appalled by its taste, declaring it "fetid", and summons the Ziltoidian warlords to attack Earth, facing the full might of Earth's army. Townsend describes the album as a mix between Strapping Young Lad and The Devin Townsend Band, with a storyline like that of Punky Brüster's Cooked on Phonics.
The album is a solo album, with all music written, mixed, produced and performed by Townsend. All drum tracks were produced with EZdrummer, a software drum machine, using the Drumkit from Hell expansion.
Townsend played a world exclusive ZtO concert in Tuska Open Air Metal Festival in Helsinki on July 2, 2010, where the whole Ziltoid album was played, with a regular Devin Townsend Project set the next day.

Terria is the fifth solo album by Canadian musician Devin Townsend. The album was released in November 2001 on Townsend's label, HevyDevy Records.

Accelerated Evolution

Accelerated Evolution is the sixth studio album by Canadian musician Devin Townsend, released in 2003. The album, written and produced by Townsend, was a mix of musical styles from alternative and hard rock to progressive metal. Townsend, the lead vocalist and guitarist, assembled a group of Vancouver musicians to perform with him on the album: guitarist Brian Waddell, drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen, bassist Mike Young, and keyboardist Dave Young. This lineup, the Devin Townsend Band, was Townsend's first dedicated lineup for his solo material, and was created as a counterpart to Townsend's extreme metal project Strapping Young Lad.
Accelerated Evolution was written and recorded at the same time as Strapping Young Lad's self-titled album, with Townsend dividing his energy between the two. Accelerated Evolution was recorded in Vancouver, British Columbia from September to November 2002, and was released on Townsend's independent label, HevyDevy Records, in March 2003. The album was well received by critics for its blend of genres and influences, its musical accessibility, and its large-scale rock production style.

Synchestra

Synchestra is the eighth solo album by Canadian musician Devin Townsend, and the second album he recorded with The Devin Townsend Band. The album was released in January 2006 on Townsend's label, HevyDevy Records.

Farmville is a sleepy little town about sixty miles west of Richmond, Virginia. It is a college town hosting Longwood University and the second oldest college in the country, Hampden-Sydney, just down the road. It&#39;s the kind of place where, as the saying goes, &quot;nothing ever happens.&quot; Until&nbsp;something did. In September of 2009, the town became the site of the four&nbsp;brutal murders of a local college professor, a local church minister, and two&nbsp;teenage girls.

Local police were initially baffled and&nbsp;the residents of Farmville were horrified. Police eventually&nbsp;discovered the murderer was&nbsp;Richard Samuel &quot;Syko Sam&quot;&nbsp;McCroskey, a teenaged boy from California, who had been visiting&nbsp;his online girlfriend in Virginia, and a fan of&nbsp;<a href="http://www.ranker.com/list/horrorcore-bands-and-musicians/reference" target="_blank">Horrorcore music</a>, a subgenre of hip hop sometimes containing dark and violent lyrics.

The Farmville murders were ferocious. Officials at the crime scene referred to the setting as that of&nbsp;&quot;a slaughterhouse.&quot;&nbsp;The press quickly began calling it&nbsp;&quot;the Horrorcore Murders,&quot; or&nbsp;the Juggalo Murders&nbsp;(&quot;Juggalo&quot; is the label&nbsp;given to fans of Psychopathic Records <a class="edS-cl" href="https://www.ranker.com/crowdranked-list/overall-best-hip-hop-crew?ref=internalCrossLinking_keyword">hip hop groups</a>). Some were quick to blame the music and the performers for the heinous crimes, while others insist the blame lay squarely on the shoulders of McCroskey, and nowhere else.
