For many children, some of the most cherished moments from their childhood are the good times spent with happy, loyal dog. Pups are not just a pet to be fed, walked, and washed on a daily basis. These dogs actually become members of the family -- and for good reason. Dogs are intelligent, energetic, and friendly, giving as much love to your family as you give to each other. The qualities of a good dog are all amazing qualities to impart on your baby. With the right dog, your baby will learn responsibility at a young age, while getting all the extra love they’d ever need. This list is the answer to the question, “What are the best dog breeds for babies and infants?”

This list includes large loving dogs, like golden retrievers and collies, to the most obedient small breeds, such as corgis and terriers. The dogs on this list have strong qualities like intelligence, loyalty, and friendliness to people of all ages but are especially gentle and patient, making their temperament perfect around babies.

What puppies would get along great with your infant child? Your choice in dog will, of course, depend on individual and family taste. However, it’s important to look for a dog who can get along with humans at any age, show obedience, and give all the love a person could ever need. This list covers the sort of dogs you’d want around your beloved baby, and many of these pups are also the best dog breeds for kids of any age.
